A basic corded Dolphin for pools up to 10 metres that scrubs the floor, walls, waterline and steps. Nobody has tested it independently yet, so everything here is Maytronics' own description.

The short version
The S1000 is the entry model in Maytronics' newer S-line of corded Dolphin robots, above the S100 and below the S2000 and S3000. Unlike the S100, it's meant to clean the waterline, steps and shallow sun ledges as well as the floor and walls. It runs a fixed two-and-a-half-hour cycle from a mains power supply, with a top-loading fine filter.
It's a simple robot. There's no app, no weekly timer, no delayed start and no anti-tangle swivel on the 12m cable, and the warranty is two years where the S2000 and S3000 get three. If you want to schedule runs or stop the cable twisting, you'll need to step up the range.
We haven't found an independent test of the S1000 yet, so how well it actually climbs, scrubs and copes with leaves is unknown.
Our take: Consider it for a small to medium in-ground or above-ground pool where you want a no-fuss corded robot you drop in and plug in, and you don't want an app. Wait for a proper test before trusting the claims about steps and sun ledges. If you want scheduling and a tangle-free cable now, the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus has both and has been tested. For app control on a corded robot, look at the Hayward AquaVac 650.

What we know so far

We couldn't find a hands-on test of the S1000 from a magazine, lab, video reviewer or independent blog. It's a new model, and the pages that call themselves reviews are about other Dolphins. Everything on this page comes from Maytronics and Maytronics Australia, so read it as the maker's claims. We'll add findings when someone tests it properly.
What it's designed to clean
Maytronics lists the floor, walls, waterline, steps and sun ledges for pools up to 10m long, in-ground or above-ground, of any common shape. Maytronics Australia says it keeps its grip in water as shallow as 30cm, which is what lets it work on tanning ledges and wide steps. None of this has been checked by an independent tester, so how well it copes with your steps is unknown.
A simple corded robot
It runs a fixed 2.5-hour cycle from a mains power supply, per Maytronics. There's no app, no weekly timer, no delayed start and no remote. The 12m cable has no anti-tangle swivel, which the S2000 and S3000 add. Check the cable will reach the far end of your pool from the socket before you buy, because a longer pool needs one of those bigger models.
Filter and upkeep
The fine filter lifts out from the top, and Maytronics says you unsnap the bottom and rinse it without touching the debris. There's no filter-full indicator. Maytronics Australia describes a brush plus an active scrubber and navigation that plans its route, but nobody has tested either claim. The warranty is two years, one less than the S100, S2000 and S3000 get, per Maytronics.

Maytronics says so. The S1000 is listed for the floor, walls, waterline, steps and sun ledges, with waterline scrubbing, per the specifications. No independent tester has checked how well it does any of it yet.
Will it work in an above-ground pool?
Yes, according to the specifications: it's listed for in-ground and above-ground pools up to 10m long, in rectangular, round, kidney and free-form shapes. Check the 12m cable reaches from your socket to the far end.
Does it need an app?
No, and it can't use one. There's no app, no weekly timer and no delayed start, per the specifications. You drop it in, switch it on and it runs a 2.5-hour cycle. If you want scheduling, the S2000 and S3000 add the MyDolphin Plus app.
How do I clean the filter?
Lift the filter out of the top, unsnap the bottom and rinse it, per the specifications. It comes with a fine filter kit and has no filter-full indicator, so check it after each run. Nobody has reported yet how fiddly that is in practice.
