Vacuum Wars' three-month home trial found that scheduled cleaning kept a busy mixed-floor home comfortable with little intervention. RTINGS' controlled testing instead found scattered debris, weak hard-floor pickup and material remaining on carpet. We would preserve both findings: a satisfying daily routine and a poor laboratory result can coexist, but these sources do not establish why their outcomes differ.

The longer home trial identified clumps of shed hair blocking the robot's bin ports and the dock's debris channel, sometimes without an app warning. That is different from hair wrapping around the rollers. RTINGS also found incomplete carpet-hair pickup. For a heavily shedding household, check both the cleaned floor and whether debris actually reaches the dock bag.

Vacuum Wars liked everyday mopping but reported more streaks as the pads wore. Textured bathroom tiles were sometimes mistaken for carpet and left unmopped. RTINGS found limited removal of set-in stains. These observations favour frequent maintenance cleans with sound pads; they provide less reassurance for a buyer expecting difficult dried messes or unusual floor textures to be handled automatically.

RTINGS judged obstacle handling a strength, including its controlled pet-waste tests. In the longer home trial, loose cables occasionally caused a mop pad to detach. Successful laboratory avoidance is useful evidence, not a guarantee about every object on a real floor. This is especially relevant if schedules run while the family is away.

The home reviewer preferred customised room settings because CleanGenius repeated cleaning unnecessarily, extending runs and increasing water-tank attention. Dock care itself was straightforward. Our conclusion is that the L50 can save meaningful effort, but some setup and inspection are part of getting that benefit. Buyers prioritising flawless pickup should give the conflicting test results more weight than the model's extensive feature list.
