Cayman
Limited evidenceRead the findings →A mid-price corded Dolphin that scrubs the floor and climbs the walls on a weekly timer. It suits simple pools where you want scheduling without an app. The catch: Maytronics says it doesn't scrub the waterline.

What we know
Per the Maytronics (US) listing, the Cayman scrubs the floor and walls over a two-hour cycle, runs on a weekly timer with no app, and doesn't scrub the waterline. The only real-pool review comes from The Pool Nerd, which ran it in an 8 × 20ft above-ground pool but is linked to a Dolphin dealer, so we don't count it as independent. It praises the timer, the big top-loading basket and the scrubbing brush, and says it climbs walls well.
The Pool Nerd, hands-on (Tested in an 8 × 20ft above-ground pool; Site linked to a Dolphin dealer)
A timer without an app
The weekly timer is the Cayman's main selling point over Dolphin's cheapest robots. Maytronics (US) lists it, with no app and no remote control. The Pool Nerd set it to run on a schedule from a button on the power supply, and called the timer the best part of the robot. If you want the pool cleaned while you're away, that's what you're paying for over the Escape.
Walls yes, waterline unclear
Maytronics (US) lists floor and walls, and answers no to waterline scrubbing. The Pool Nerd found it climbed well and scrubbed right up to the edge, near the waterline, in its small above-ground pool. That's one dealer-linked test in a small pool, set against the maker's own listing. Don't buy it counting on a clean waterline.
Big basket, basic filter
The filter lifts out of the top, per Maytronics (US), and comes as a fine filter kit, with ultra-fine filters sold separately. The Pool Nerd found the basket large, quick to rinse and slow to fill, even after a windy day, and recommends adding the finer filters if pollen or silt bother you. There's no warning light to tell you it's full.
What's not checked yet
Our search found dealer pages, affiliate round-ups and The Pool Nerd, a review site linked to a Dolphin dealer, but no independent test. So the basics are still open: how thoroughly it covers a bigger in-ground pool, how it copes with steps, and how it holds up over the seasons. Independent testers did use the Nautilus CC Plus, but their praise doesn't automatically carry over to this model.
Our take
Should you buy the Cayman?
Best for: Pools whose owners want a simple cleaner without an app. Skip it if: You want a stronger record in independent tests before buying.
On paper it suits a simple in-ground pool if you want a timer without an app, but nobody independent has judged it. The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus does the same floor-and-walls job and three independent testers liked it, and the Dolphin Premier adds waterline scrubbing.
The Cayman is one of Dolphin's US online-channel robots, sold through certified web dealers rather than big shops. It plugs into the mains, scrubs the floor and climbs the walls with one active brush over a two-hour cycle, and a weekly timer lets it run on a schedule without an app. Maytronics rates it for in-ground and above-ground pools up to 12 metres.
Maytronics' own listing shows what's missing. There is no waterline scrubbing, no app and no swivel on the cable, so the cable can twist over time. The Pool Nerd, which is linked to a Dolphin dealer, ran it in an above-ground pool and liked the timer and the big basket. A fine filter comes in the box and ultra-fine filters cost extra. It isn't sold in the UK.

The questions people ask about this one
Does it climb walls and clean the waterline?
It climbs walls, but Maytronics answers no to waterline scrubbing, per the specifications. The Pool Nerd, a dealer-linked site, saw it scrub up to the edge in a small above-ground pool. We found no independent test yet, so plan to brush the waterline yourself.
Will it work in an above-ground pool?
Yes. Maytronics lists it for in-ground and above-ground pools up to 40 feet, per the specifications. The Pool Nerd ran it in an 8 × 20ft above-ground pool, where the cable reached every corner.
Does it need an app?
No, and it doesn't have one. You set the weekly timer on the power supply, per the specifications. The Pool Nerd set it to clean daily, every other day or every three days, with no phone involved.
How do I clean the filter?
Lift the basket out of the top, unsnap the bottom and rinse it, per the specifications. The Pool Nerd found it quick to rinse and slow to fill. Finer filters for pollen and silt are an extra.
Alternatives
Other robotic pool cleaners to compare.

Nautilus CC Plus
Why consider it: Three independent testers found it cleans floors and walls quickly, with filters that are easy to empty.
The compromise: It sometimes sticks on steps, and testers disagree about whether it cleans the waterline.

Premier
Why consider it: Bob Vila rated its waterline cleaning and filters, and it offers a leaf bag among three filter options.
The compromise: It has no app, and it's heavy to lift out of the water.

Scuba V3
Why consider it: Three testers found its camera genuinely helps this cordless robot find and clear debris on floors, walls and the waterline.
The compromise: You get about 10 minutes to collect it after a run before it sinks.
