See pricesThe original. It has the same basic recipe as the P10: an extending side brush and mop, a camera for clutter and a dock that washes the mops in hot water. It can also leave its mops in the dock for vacuum-only runs, which the P10 can't. Its two tests disagree on cleaning: one rated its pet-hair pickup among the best, while a lab found it dragged hair around carpet.
The tweaked version from Dreame's sub-brand MOVA. RTINGS found it picked up more on hard floors, avoided obstacles better and ran longer than the L40 Ultra it's based on, and one lab called it the best value robot of its year. What you give up: its side brush doesn't work on carpet, so carpet edges stay dirty, pet hair in carpet is weak in all three tests, and its mops stay attached on rugs.
Two full tests, two different verdicts. TechRadar used it at home and in a village hall, rated its pet-hair pickup among the best and cleared a dried soy sauce stain in three short passes. RTINGS found it missed fine material on hard floors and that the roller didn't agitate carpet enough, dragging hair around. Both found it good at avoiding obstacles, though TechRadar wouldn't trust it with dog mess.
All three tests praise it on hard floors: RTINGS saw it clear all medium and large debris, and TechGearLab collected about 91% of its spilled mess. Pet hair in carpet is weak in all three. Vacuum Wars measured above-average carpet cleaning and one of the best battery results it had seen. Obstacles split them: RTINGS rated its avoidance superb, while TechGearLab's unit ran into fake pet mess.
MOVA is a sub-brand of Dreame RTINGS, and RTINGS describes the P10 Pro Ultra as based on the L40 Ultra, with improvements from Dreame. So this isn't a contest between two different companies' ideas. It's whether MOVA's changes suit your floors better than the original.
RTINGS found the P10 picked up more debris from hard floors, which it puts down to stronger suction. RTINGS saw the L40 miss fine material on hard floors, while all three P10 tests praised it there. TechRadar had no complaints about the L40 on hardwood, so the gap may be smaller in your home, but the evidence points to the MOVA.
The P10's side brush doesn't work on carpet, so it can't clean carpet edges and corners, which RTINGS says badly hurts it there. RTINGS also found it dragged pet hair around rather than lifting it, and Vacuum Wars measured below-average flattened-hair pickup. The L40 has its own question mark on carpet hair, with RTINGS finding it weak and TechRadar finding it excellent.
RTINGS rated the P10 better at avoiding obstacles, credited to firmware and object-recognition changes, and better on battery and mopping. Vacuum Wars found it covered roughly twice the floor of an average robot per charge. Home results vary, though: TechGearLab's P10 ran into fake pet mess. Tidy the floor before a run with either.
The L40 Ultra can drop its mop pads in the dock for vacuum-only runs, which worked as described for TechRadar. The P10 lifts its pads 10.5mm over carpet but keeps them attached. If you have deep rugs, that makes the Dreame easier to live with.

MOVA is a Dreame sub-brand RTINGS, and RTINGS describes the P10 Pro Ultra as based on the Dreame L40 Ultra, with improvements. They share a lot, but they aren't identical: the P10's side brush skips carpet, and it can't leave its mops in the dock.
On mostly hard floors, yes. RTINGS found it better for hard-floor pickup, obstacle avoidance, mopping and battery. On carpet, the L40 Ultra comes out ahead because the P10 can't clean carpet edges and corners.
Neither has strong evidence. All three P10 tests found pet hair in carpet its weak spot. The L40 is split: TechRadar rated it among the best for pet hair, while RTINGS found it dragged hair around. TechRadar's unit came with an extra TriCut brush, so check which brush is in the box.
The L40 Ultra, because it can leave its mops in the dock and its side brush works on carpet. The P10 lifts its mops 10.5mm over rugs but keeps them attached, and TechGearLab saw it chew the edges of thin rugs.
No. The Gen 2 is a newer model with different hardware, and none of the P10 tests here cover it. Check the exact name before you order.
