A clever solar-docking concept let down by unreliable software, charging and support. When it works it cleans well, but too many owners spend time troubleshooting instead of cleaning the pool.

What reviewers found
PCWorld found effective cleaning when concentrating on one area, but the combined cycle and solar-powered ownership routine were less convincing. Charging and connectivity are as important to this model as its pickup.
Strong individual tasks, incomplete combined runs
The reviewer praised wall and waterline scrubbing and obtained excellent floor-only debris collection. In the combined mode, however, too little battery remained to clean the floor properly. One run also ended before the robot returned to the dock.
[1]Solar does not guarantee daily readiness
The review found the solar charging arrangement too slow to support heavy daily use consistently. A shaded location or poor weather adds uncertainty. Manual charging remains possible, but needing it regularly weakens the main reason to pay for this version.

A firmware update disabled connectivity in the review setup and a replacement system was supplied. Battery reporting could also require restarting the app. These are observations of that test, not proof that every unit remains affected.
[1]Routine upkeep
The basket was straightforward to remove and rinse, but retrieving the docked robot still required reaching into the water or using a pole. The solar dock does not empty the debris for you.
