It is rated for 80% slopes against Husqvarna's 30%, cuts 400mm against 220mm, fuses LiDAR, network RTK and cameras rather than relying on satellites alone, and starts £250 cheaper. Choose the Husqvarna if you want a dealer to install and service it, or your garden's signal is poor enough to need the optional EPOS reference station.

Where they actually differ
The differences that change the decision, not every line on the spec sheet.
Slopes: 80% against 30%
The widest gap between any two machines we have compared. All-wheel drive is why. If your lawn has a bank the Husqvarna will not attempt, this is not a close decision.
Positioning: three systems against one plus a camera
The LUBA 3 AWD fuses 360° LiDAR, network RTK and dual-camera vision, so losing one does not stop it. Husqvarna uses satellite positioning with cloud corrections — accurate to better than 5cm — plus an infrared camera for objects, and offers the EPOS RS1 reference station for gardens with poor coverage. Husqvarna's fallback is a purchase; Mammotion's is built in.
Cut and noise
400mm against 220mm means far fewer passes on a large lawn. The trade is noise: Mammotion publishes 70dB, Husqvarna 60dB. On a small garden overlooked by neighbours that matters.
Support: the Husqvarna argument
Husqvarna sells and services through a UK dealer network — someone installs it, and someone local fixes it. Mammotion is direct. For a £2,000+ machine that runs unattended, that is a real difference in ownership, not a detail.
Reviews and variants
TechRadar rated the LUBA 3 AWD Highly Recommended and Trusted Reviews tested it, but note their figures cover the 3000 variant specifically — the range runs 1500 to 5000 with different areas and prices. No outlet we trust has reviewed the 405VE NERA; the reviews you will find are for the 405XE and 305E, which are different machines.

Is Husqvarna worth the extra money?

Do either need a boundary wire?
No. The LUBA 3 AWD uses network RTK with LiDAR and cameras; the Husqvarna uses satellite positioning with virtual boundaries set in its app.
Why is there no review score for the Husqvarna?
