Roborock Saros 10 vs Saros 20

Our verdict

Buy the Saros 10. It is £299 cheaper, has a T3 Platinum Award and a TechRadar 4/5, and its specification is fully verified. The Saros 20 scores higher — TechRadar's 4.25/5 is the best any Roborock earns here — but three of its headline figures are contradicted between Roborock's own page and the reviews, and climbing is the only thing it clearly does better.

Where they actually differ

The differences that change the decision, not every line on the spec sheet.

01

Price: £299 apart, both reduced

Both have been cut hard this year — the Saros 10 by £500 from £1,199.99, the Saros 20 by £300 from £1,299. At £699.97 against £998.99, the 10 is the better evidence-per-pound buy unless the 20 solves a problem you actually have.

02

Climbing: the Saros 20's real advantage

The Saros 20's chassis is built around getting over raised thresholds and double door bars. We do not publish a number for it, because Roborock quotes 4.5+4.3cm and TechRadar measured 4.5+4cm. The Saros 10's AdaptiLift chassis is verified at up to 4cm, managing 3cm thresholds. If your rooms are separated by tall bars, that is the reason to pay more.

03

Navigation: retractable LiDAR against StarSight

The Saros 10 uses a retractable LiDAR turret with Reactive AI 3.0 obstacle recognition. The Saros 20 drops the turret for StarSight 2.0, a solid-state system that keeps the robot low enough to get under more furniture. Both are well reviewed; neither reviewer called the other's approach a mistake.

04

Mopping: detaching against a hotter dock

The Saros 10 detaches its mop entirely in the dock before it goes near carpet, and washes at 80°C. The Saros 20's dock washes at 100°C and it uses a rotating module with FlexiArm edge cleaning. Hotter washing is better for grease and smell; a fully detached mop is better for a carpeted home.

05

What we will not tell you

The Saros 20's suction, battery and threshold figures are all contradicted between sources — 36,000Pa against 35,000Pa, 6,400mAh against 6,300mAh, and two different threshold measurements. Those cells are blank in the table above. The Saros 10's six verified specs all agree across sources.

Questions people ask

Is the Saros 20 better than the Saros 10?

It scores higher — TechRadar gave it 4.25/5 against the Saros 10's 4/5 — and climbs higher. It is also £299 more and has three contradicted specifications. For most homes the Saros 10 is the better buy.

What is the difference between Saros 10 and Saros 20?

Chassis and navigation. The 10 has a retractable LiDAR turret and a mop that detaches; the 20 has solid-state StarSight navigation, a taller climb and a 100°C mop wash. Both share Roborock's flagship dock generation.

Which is better for carpet?

The Saros 10, because its mop detaches in the dock rather than lifting, so no damp pad ever crosses the carpet.

Why is the Saros 20's suction not shown?

Because Roborock's UK page says 36,000Pa and TechRadar's review says 35,000Pa. Where two sources disagree we publish neither figure.
