Almost nothing in this category is a household product. Establish first whether a machine can actually be ordered and delivered to you, then whether the advertised capability was autonomous or teleoperated. Most current buyers are developers and organisations, not homes.
Availability is the first filter
Announcements, pilots, prototypes and orderable products get presented in very similar language. A deposit page is not a delivery date. Check the market it ships to, the lead time, and whether what arrives is a development platform that expects you to write software for it.
Ask whether the demonstration was autonomous
Many of the most impressive clips involve teleoperation, a scripted routine or a carefully prepared environment. None of those is dishonest in itself, but they say little about what the robot does in an ordinary room. The useful question is what it does unattended, repeatedly, in a space it has not been prepared for.
Cost, safety and support
Prices run from around £13,500 into six figures, and that is before support contracts, spares and the space to operate safely. A walking machine of this mass near people raises genuine safety questions that a consumer appliance does not. Treat it as capital equipment, with the due diligence that implies.

Can I buy a humanoid robot for my home?
A few can be ordered, mostly in the US or through specialist channels, and some take deposits against future delivery. None is a finished household appliance you should expect to do chores.
Why are the prices so far apart?
Because the machines are far apart. A compact research platform and a full-size bipedal system aimed at industrial work are different products, with different compute, actuators and support.
Are they safe around children and pets?
Treat any full-size walking robot as industrial equipment. Read the manufacturer's stated operating conditions, and do not assume domestic safety certification exists.
