A humanoid robot uses a body layout inspired by people—typically a torso, arms and two legs—to operate in spaces and with tools designed for humans. A human-like shape does not imply human-level intelligence or autonomy.
Form is not capability
Walking, carrying and manipulating objects are separate engineering problems. A robot that performs a chore in a demonstration may still rely on a controlled environment or remote human support.
Autonomy has levels
Some systems execute planned motions, some learn policies for selected tasks, and some use teleoperation. Product pages should state which mode produced the advertised result.
Market stages matter
Robots Rated labels platforms as available, preorder, commercial pilot, prototype or research/demo. This prevents a viral video from being mistaken for a product ordinary buyers can own.
