Miimo HRM 1500 Live
Limited evidenceRead the findings →Honda's connected boundary-wire mower, which you can run and track from your phone wherever you are. It suits large, sloping lawns. The GPS is for tracking, not wire-free mowing, so you still have to lay a boundary wire.

What we know
The one test verdict you can read is a good one. The German DIY magazine selbst ist der Mann gave it five out of five in 2024, finding it worked reliably without disruption, according to Testberichte.de. Test-Achats has lab-tested it, but its results are for members only, and CollaudoLab scores it from the spec sheet. Honda's own figures fill in the rest: a mobile link for running it from anywhere, a small battery for a big lawn and a steep slope rating.

Control and tracking from anywhere
This is what the Live name buys. Honda says you can run it from the Mii-Monitor app anywhere, start it with Alexa, and see its position on a map with GPS tracking and alerts if it leaves a set area, per Honda. An alarm sounds if it's lifted. The magazine test summarised by Testberichte.de also picked out the GPS location.
Wired, with a satellite shortcut home
It still needs a boundary wire, so don't mistake the GPS for wire-free mowing. Honda adds satellite-assisted homing and a shortcut wire so it takes a more direct route back to base, which it says leaves fewer wheel tracks, per Honda. You can also set no-mow zones in the app. The magazine tester noted it uses the wire to find its way, per Testberichte.de.
Many short trips on a big lawn
It has the same 1.9Ah battery as the smaller HRM 1000, giving about 40 minutes of mowing and 40 minutes of charging, per Honda. CollaudoLab points out that this means covering the full 1,500m² in lots of short sessions over several days. If you want longer runs, Honda's HRM 2500 Live has twice the battery.
Slopes, and what's still open
Honda claims 47% inside the lawn and 17% along the wire, per Honda, and says it handles passages as narrow as 60cm between the wires. The magazine verdict summarised by Testberichte.de praised it without reservation but doesn't say how it coped with a steep bank. Still to be checked: the quality of the cut, that slope rating, real mowing times and how dependable the mobile link is over months. If your lawn is near the limit, ask a dealer to survey it first.
Our take
Should you buy the Miimo HRM 1500 Live?
Best for: Sloping lawns where a dealer can install a boundary wire. Skip it if: You do not want to install a wire around the lawn.
a fair pick for a large, sloping lawn if you want to control and track the mower while you are away and do not mind laying wire. If you would rather skip the wire, the Husqvarna Automower 310E NERA covers the same area by satellite.
The HRM 1500 Live sits in the middle of Honda's range and still mows inside a pegged boundary wire. The Live part is a mobile connection, so you can run it from the app anywhere, track it by GPS with an alert if it leaves the garden, and start it with Alexa. It also uses satellites to find a shorter route home, which Honda says leaves fewer wheel tracks. Honda rates it for slopes up to 47% inside the lawn.

Test-Achats has lab-tested it, but its results are for members only. It has the same small battery as the HRM 1000, so a big lawn gets done in many short trips, and the wire still has to go in.
Before you buy
The questions people ask about this one
Does it need a boundary wire?
Yes. Despite the GPS, it mows inside a wire pegged round the lawn, and Honda's store sells it with wire and pegs included, per Honda. The satellite features help it get home and let you track it; they don't replace the wire.
Will it cope with my slope?
Honda claims 47% inside the lawn and 17% along the wire, per Honda, steeper than the 35% GARDENA claims for its mowers. Nobody whose results we could read has tested it on a slope, so treat the figure as a maximum.
Can it handle two lawns or a narrow passage?
Honda says it manages passages as narrow as 60cm between the wires, several mowing zones and a shortcut wire for a quicker route home, per Honda. That's narrower than the 1m the HRM 1000 needs.
Can I control it and find it when I'm out?
Yes. Through its mobile connection you can run it from the app anywhere or with Alexa, and GPS tracking shows where it is, with alerts if it leaves a set area, per Honda. The magazine test summarised by Testberichte.de also noted the GPS location as a plus.
Alternatives
Other robot lawn mowers to compare.

Automower 310E NERA
Why consider it: Covers the same lawn size with no boundary wire, and testers loved its finish and neat edges.
The compromise: It has no camera, so it runs over small objects instead of avoiding them.

smart SILENO life 1000
Why consider it: Also wired and app-controlled from anywhere, and two testers found it gave a neat cut in a broken-up garden.
The compromise: It's for smaller lawns, and it's rated for only 10% slope along the wire.

A 1000
Why consider it: Wire-free and satellite-guided for lawns up to 1,400m², and two tests found a precise, even cut.
The compromise: It has no camera and struggles with obstacles.
