Prowler 930W
Pentair's Wi-Fi corded robot for in-ground pools, built with Dolphin maker Maytronics. It adds app scheduling and spot cleaning to the Prowler range, but nobody has tested it independently, so these are Pentair's claims.

The short version
The Prowler 930W is the top of Pentair's small Prowler range of corded robots, which Pentair badges as powered by Dolphin. It sits above the Prowler 920, which has the same schedules, filters and swivel but no Wi-Fi, and the Prowler 910 for above-ground pools. The W adds the Pentair Home app, a caddy, spot cleaning that you steer from your phone, and a delayed start.
The trouble is evidence. We couldn't find a proper independent test, and Pentair's own product page doesn't even list the cycle times, cable length or maximum pool size. It's sold through US pool retailers, and we found no sign of it elsewhere.

Our take: Hard to recommend without a test. If you want a corded robot with app control and a tested track record, the Hayward AquaVac 650 has one. For a corded Dolphin with a swivel and a weekly timer that testers have used, look at the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, or the Dolphin Premier for bigger pools and a leaf bag.

What we know so far
Limited evidence No independent, finished hands-on review of this robot yet. What follows comes from the maker's specifications and early coverage, and says where something is untested.
We couldn't find a hands-on test of the Prowler 930W from a magazine, lab, video reviewer or independent blog. The pages that call themselves reviews are retailer write-ups or spec rewrites, so we haven't used them. Everything here comes from Pentair, Pentair and Pentair, so read it as the maker's claims. We'll add findings when someone tests it properly.
What the app adds
The W stands for Wi-Fi. Through the Pentair Home app, Pentair says you can start a clean from your phone, set a cleaning schedule, delay the start so late swimmers aren't disturbed, and use Spot Clean to steer the robot to a dirty patch. Pentair shows the Prowler 920 has schedules but none of the app features. Nobody has tested how reliable the app connection is at the pool.
A Dolphin under the badge
Pentair says the Prowler range is powered by Dolphin, the Maytronics brand. It uses a high-speed front scrubbing brush, a swivel to stop the cable tangling, and a top-access basket that takes large and ultra-fine debris. It runs from its own power supply, so it doesn't use your pool pump. Which Dolphin it's based on, and whether it cleans like one, hasn't been shown.
Specs Pentair doesn't list
Pentair's product page lists features rather than numbers: no cycle length, cable length, weight, filter sizes or maximum pool size. It does include a caddy for moving and storing the robot, per Pentair. Before buying, ask the dealer for the cable length and pool size limit, and check it suits your pool's shape.

Does it climb walls and clean the waterline?
Pentair says the Prowler range cleans the entire pool, walls and all, with a high-speed front scrubbing brush, per Pentair. It doesn't mention the waterline specifically, and nobody has tested either claim.
Will it work in an above-ground pool?
Not as far as Pentair is concerned. The 930W is sold as an in-ground cleaner, and the only Prowler marked for above-ground pools is the cheaper Prowler 910, per Pentair. Nobody has tested the 930W in an above-ground pool.
Does it need an app?
The app is the point of the W. It adds remote start, schedules, spot cleaning and a delayed start through the Pentair Home app, per Pentair. If you don't want Wi-Fi, the Prowler 920 keeps programmable schedules without it, per Pentair.
How do I clean the filter?
The basket lifts out of the top so you can empty it, and there are two filter options for large and ultra-fine debris, per Pentair. Pentair doesn't give the filter sizes, and nobody has reported how easy it is in practice.
