What we know

The Aqua10 Roller is the cheaper of Dreame's two roller-mop robots, and the detail here comes from Dreame, so read it as a spec sheet rather than a verdict. Its long roller is kept wet with clean water from 12 nozzles while a scraper squeezes off the dirty water, a guard closes over it on carpet, and the dock washes it at 100°C and dries it with warm air. Reviews of the Aqua10 Ultra Roller and Aqua10 Roller AE aren't used, because Dreame sells them as separate products.

A roller mop rinsed as it goes

According to Dreame, 12 nozzles keep the roller wet with clean water while a scraper squeezes out the dirty water, so your floor isn't wiped with a grubby mop. It claims up to 11N of downward pressure and 32 wetness levels. Reviews of Dreame's other roller robots suggest this design can mop very well, which is a promising sign for this one.

A cover to keep rugs dry

Dreame says an AutoSeal guard closes over the roller when the robot crosses carpet, and the roller lifts 14mm. The idea is to stop rugs getting damp or smelly, which is handy if you have a mix of hard floors and rugs. It also means you shouldn't need to take the roller off before the robot vacuums a carpeted room.

Climbing and the dock

Dreame claims it clears 4.2cm single steps and 6cm double thresholds, and that the dock washes the roller at 100°C, dries it with 65°C air and holds up to 100 days of dust. Those figures would put it near the top of its class. If your doorway thresholds are unusually high, measure them against the climbing figure before you buy.

What's not checked yet

No independent review of the Aqua10 Roller has been published. The detailed reviews we found cover the Aqua10 Ultra Roller and the Aqua10 Roller AE, which Dreame sells as separate products, so they don't count here. Still to check: how well it lifts stains with its 11N of pressure, whether the AutoSeal guard really keeps rugs dry, and whether it clears the 4.2cm steps and 6cm thresholds Dreame claims.

Our take

Should you buy the Aqua10 Roller?

Best for: Homes wanting to mop hard floors while keeping rugs dry. Skip it if: You want a stronger record in independent tests before buying.

Wait for a test of this exact version before buying. The Aqua10 Ultra Roller has several independent tests behind it, and the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni is another roller-mop robot that has been tested.

The Aqua10 Roller is the cheaper of Dreame's two roller-mop robots. A long roller is sprayed with clean water from a row of nozzles as it goes, while dirty water is squeezed off and sucked away, and a guard closes over it on carpet. The dock empties the bin, washes the roller in very hot water, dries it and tops up water and cleaning solution.

Dreame claims it clears 4.2cm single steps and 6cm double thresholds, presses the roller down with up to 11N for stains and lifts it 14mm on rugs. If your doorway thresholds are unusually high, check them against those figures. Reviews of the Aqua10 Ultra Roller and the Aqua10 Roller AE, which Dreame sells as separate products, don't apply to this model.

Before you buy

The questions people ask about this one

Can it leave the mop in the dock for carpet?

No, the roller stays on the robot. Instead, the specifications says a guard seals over the roller on carpet and it lifts 14mm. Nobody has tested how dry that keeps a thick rug.

Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?

Dreame claims it climbs 4.2cm single steps and 6cm double thresholds, per the specifications. That's unusually high, but no reviewer has measured it on this model, so treat it as the best case until someone does.

How often do I have to empty or refill anything?

The dock has a 3.2-litre dust bag that Dreame claims lasts up to 100 days, plus 4 litres of clean water and 3.5 litres of dirty water, per the specifications. It tops up cleaning solution automatically too. Expect to empty the dirty water regularly, as with any mopping dock.

Is this the same as the Aqua10 Ultra Roller or Roller AE?

No. Dreame lists them as separate products with different specs and prices, per the specifications. Reviews of the Ultra Roller, including its lab test and owner reports of dock leaks, don't automatically apply here, so check the exact name before reading any review.

Aqua10 Ultra Roller

Why consider it: Several testers call its roller mopping the best they've seen, and its carpet cover and dock are well liked.

The compromise: It's slow and hungry on battery, and owner reports of leaking docks are a real worry.

DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI

Why consider it: A tested self-rinsing roller mop that's excellent on hard floors.

The compromise: Pet hair on carpet needs the slower deep-clean mode, and tests disagree on dried stains.
