What we know

The details on the W120-P come from Mamibot's product page and its Mamibot overview. Its closest relative with a published test is the newer W120-DP, a square sibling with more nozzles and grip that adjusts itself. heise online found that model navigated well and found frames reliably, but left streaks and a greasy film. How much of that carries over to the W120-P is covered below.

heise online, hands-on, Aug 2025 (tested on the Mamibot iGLASSBOT W120-DP; Tests the newer W120-DP, not the W120-P)

You decide when it sprays

The W120-P's two sprayers fire water in the direction it's heading. Mamibot gives you three settings: a spray every five seconds in automatic mode, every 10, 15 or 20 seconds set from the app, or one spray per press, which is the default. A 50ml tank holds about 170 sprays. That control could help you avoid over-wetting the glass, a common cause of streaks, and the default one-press setting puts you in charge of every spray.

Set routes, then back to start

Mamibot lists zigzag, lane and combined cleaning patterns, sensors that predict collisions and steer round window handles, and an automatic return to where it started once it's done, so it's easy to lift off. At 7.8cm thick and 1.35kg, it's slim and light to carry between windows. All of these details come from Mamibot's product page.

What the sibling's test suggests

heise online tested the newer W120-DP, not this model. It found navigation surprisingly good for a cheap robot, with corner sensors that reliably found the frame, but the cleaning left streaks and a greasy film. The W120-P has a different spray system and no self-adjusting grip, so those results may not carry over. Nobody has checked the W120-P's own cleaning, noise or spray control yet.

Safety details are missing

Most window robots list a backup battery that keeps them stuck to the glass if the power fails, plus a safety rope. Mamibot's W120-P page mentions neither, though it does describe four sensors to stop it falling off frameless edges. The W120-DP's page lists a backup battery, and heise online found a 5m rope with that model. Look in the W120-P's box and manual before using it outside.

Our take

Should you buy the iGLASSBOT W120-P?

Best for: Large windows cleaned regularly, with a socket nearby. Skip it if: You want a stronger record in independent tests before buying.

Hold off. It's untested, the one review of its newer square sibling found streaks, and Mamibot's page doesn't mention a backup battery. If you want a Mamibot square robot, the W120-DP at least has a test behind it and a listed backup battery. Better still, the Ecovacs WINBOT mini had two German home tests that found mostly streak-free glass.

The W120-P arrived in 2023 as Mamibot's fifth-generation square window cleaner, and its second with a built-in sprayer. It's slim at 7.8cm and light at 1.35kg. It sprays water ahead of itself from a 50ml tank, and you choose how often: every five seconds, every 10 to 20 seconds from the app, or one press at a time. It cleans in zigzag or up-and-down patterns and comes back to where it started, so it's easy to lift off. The newer W120-DP adds more nozzles and grip that adjusts itself.

The trade-off is the finish and the safety kit. heise's test of its square sibling, the W120-DP, found streaks left behind, and this model's different spray system may not change that. Mamibot's W120-P page also says nothing about a backup battery or a safety rope, which most window robots have in case the power fails. Check what's in the box before using it on an outside window.

The questions people ask about this one

Will it work on frameless glass?

Mamibot says so. the specifications describes four sensors that pick up edges and obstacles, especially where two frames meet, to stop it falling off frameless glass. Nobody has tested that on the W120-P, so watch its first run closely.

What happens if the power cuts out?

We can't tell. The W120-P's page, the specifications, mentions no backup battery or safety rope, unlike the W120-DP's, and heise online found both on that sibling. Check the manual and the box before trusting it on an outside window.

Does it leave streaks or edges?

Not tested on the W120-P. heise online found its sibling, the W120-DP, removed coarse dirt but left streaks and a greasy film. The W120-P's adjustable spray timing, per the specifications, may help avoid over-wetting, but nobody has checked.

Can it clean mirrors and tiles?

the specifications lists window glass, bathroom glass, seamless walls and floors. Mamibot adds that Mamibot's window robots suit smooth upright surfaces and aren't recommended for rough, textured or uneven ones.

WINBOT MINI

Why consider it: Two German home tests found it left small and medium panes mostly streak-free after one pass.

The compromise: It needs a socket nearby, and one tester saw dirt left in the last millimetres at the frame.

Why consider it: Mamibot's newer square model lists a backup battery, and heise found it navigated well and found frames reliably.

Why consider it: Compact, and a tester found it cleared fingerprints and dust and reached right to the frame.

The compromise: It's loud, slow on dried-on marks, and you'll stand beside it the whole time.
