D10 Plus Gen 2
One of Dreame's cheapest robots that maps your home and empties itself into a bag for up to three months. It's very good on hard floors, but weak on thick carpet, and it runs over cables and socks.

The short version
The D10 Plus Gen 2 is a budget Dreame: a spinning laser on top maps your rooms so it cleans in neat lines, and the base sucks the bin empty into a 4L bag. Above it sit Dreame's docks that also wash the mops; below it, the D9 Max Gen 2 does without the emptying base. It has a rubber brush, a small clip-on water tank and a mop pad for a light wipe of hard floors.
The savings show in three places. Its suction is a fraction of Dreame's pricier robots, so thick carpet and pet hair beat it. The mop is a damp pad you fit, wash and refill by hand. And it has no real way of seeing small things on the floor, so it eats cables.
In the US, Dreame has moved on to the D20 Plus, but the D10 Plus Gen 2 is still on Dreame's European stores.
Our take: Buy it for a tidy home that's mostly hard floor, where the appeal is a robot that keeps on top of dust and crumbs and only needs emptying every couple of months. Skip it if you have thick carpet, a shedding pet or floors covered in cables and toys. The Roborock Q7 M5 has a better record with pet hair, and the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 washes its own mops.

What reviewers found
Three tests. Tom's Guide ran its standard pickup tests at home, TechGearLab scored it against 22 other robots, and Vacuum Chef measured it in-house. All three found it cleans hard floors well, maps quickly and is easy to live with for the money. All three also found it bumps into or runs over small objects. They split on carpet: TechGearLab and Vacuum Chef were impressed, while Tom's Guide saw it struggle, especially with hair and deep pile.

Strong on hard floors
Tom's Guide measured 100% of hair and cereal and 99.5% of flax seeds picked up on hardwood, and said it cleaned like far pricier robots there. TechGearLab found it handled rice, sand and cereal reasonably well, with the odd small bit left behind, and rated its edge cleaning a strong point. If most of your home is hard floor, this is the reassuring result.
Carpet: the tests disagree
Tom's Guide saw it pick up only 40% of hair on low-pile carpet and 12% on high-pile, and found flax seeds and cereal escaped on deep carpet too. TechGearLab was much happier, calling it a neat, methodical carpet cleaner that removed about 76% of debris, and Vacuum Chef scored 90 in its carpet deep-clean test. The difference is probably pile depth and hair: keep it to low and medium carpet, and don't count on it for pet hair.
It doesn't see small things
TechGearLab watched it run over cords, bump into furniture and hit all six of its fake pet messes, and a tester called it a cord eater. Tom's Guide found it bumped gently into new obstacles, including the reviewer's leg, and Vacuum Chef says small objects get bump-and-run rather than avoidance. Pick up cables, socks and toys before every run, and don't use it where a pet might have had an accident.
Basic mopping, done by hand
The water tank and mop pad clip on and off, and there's no detergent. Tom's Guide found dried soy sauce, mayonnaise and muddy footprints left residue after a run. TechGearLab said the pad improves how floors look but leaves them on the damp side, and needs washing between runs. Vacuum Chef likened it to a damp cloth. Treat it as a quick wipe between proper mops.
Easy to live with
All three liked the quick, accurate mapping and the app, with no-go zones, zone cleaning and schedules. TechGearLab found it quiet enough to watch TV while it ran, though the base is louder when it empties. The downside is hair: TechGearLab and Vacuum Chef both found long hair wraps round the ends of the brush, so keep the cutting tool handy.

How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
The base empties the robot into a 4L bag that Dreame says lasts up to 90 days, per the specifications. The water tank only holds 150ml, and Tom's Guide found you need to fill and empty it every time you mop, plus wash the pad.
How does it handle rugs and door bars?
TechGearLab rates it for regular upkeep on low- and medium-pile carpet, while Tom's Guide saw pickup drop sharply on high-pile. Dreame says it climbs 20mm thresholds, per the specifications, which covers most door bars but not tall ones. Take the mop off before vacuuming rugs.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Often not. It's 9.63cm tall with the laser turret on top, per the specifications. Measure the gap under your sofa and bed before buying; anything under about 10cm is too tight.
Is it any good with pet hair?
Only light shedding. Tom's Guide said to skip it for pets that shed a lot, after it left most hair on carpet, and TechGearLab found it rolled over clumps. Hair also wraps round the brush ends, according to TechGearLab and Vacuum Chef.
