STIGA's 2026 wire-free mowers, in eight sizes from small gardens to fields. Testers agree the cut is excellent, but the camera, the app and the setup all drew real complaints.

The short version
The Vista range is STIGA's new line of mowers that need no boundary wire and no aerial on a pole. They find their way by satellite and use a camera on the front to spot things in the way. There are eight sizes, from the A 6v for small lawns to the A 140v for fields, and the bigger ones mainly get bigger batteries and more zones. They sit alongside STIGA's A 4 and A 8, which do a similar job without the camera.
What you get is a very neat cut and a dealer network to set it up and service it. What you give up is polish: the setup is fiddly, the app feels dated next to Chinese rivals, and the camera has either missed things or stopped the mower for no clear reason, depending on who tested it.
Our take: Buy a Vista if a neat lawn matters most, you're happy to let a STIGA dealer set it up, and your grass is fairly flat and even. If you want to install it yourself or your lawn is lumpy, look at the Roborock RockNeo Q1, which one tester preferred. If you want a camera mower with a longer track record from a dealer, the Husqvarna 405VE NERA is the safer bet.

What reviewers found
Three German tests so far, each on a different size. inside-digital tried the A 6v, selbst.de ran the A 15v for about three months alongside TÜV Rheinland, and top agrar used the A 25v for eight weeks on a 1,400m² farm lawn. All three found the setup or the app hard work, and the two that judged the cut loved it. They disagree about what goes wrong with the camera, and uneven ground caused trouble in two of the tests.

The cut itself is excellent
Nobody argues about this. inside-digital called the result fantastic, with the lawn looking almost like artificial turf. top agrar gave the cut its top grade, especially in the chessboard pattern, and also gave top marks for how quiet it is. If a neat-looking lawn is what you're paying for, the Vista delivers it. The problems below are about getting it running and keeping it running, not about the grass it leaves behind.
The camera misbehaves in different ways
inside-digital found the camera spotted balls and flat things like hoses too late, so the reviewer sometimes had to hit the stop button. top agrar had the opposite problem: the A 25v kept stopping for no visible reason, and a STIGA technician advised switching the camera off because the lawn was uneven, after which it ran much more reliably. Missed obstacles and false alarms are different faults, and nobody has shown which is more common. Either way, clear the lawn before it runs.
Setup is a job for the dealer
There's no automatic mapping. selbst.de had to drive the boundary with a joystick in the app, which reacted late, and a factory software fault meant a technician had to step in. It suggests leaving setup to the dealer unless you're confident with tech. inside-digital said a setup meant to take 37 minutes took hours because of repeated failures. top agrar reports that a dealer technician usually does it in about an hour. Budget for help, or a lot of patience.
The app lags behind rivals
inside-digital called the software years behind Chinese competitors such as Navimow and Mammotion. top agrar found day-to-day use unintuitive, with lots of clicking through menus, unreliable push notifications and an out-of-date map underneath that showed flower beds that no longer exist. If you like tweaking zones and schedules from your phone, this is the weakest part of the package, and it's a big reason inside-digital wouldn't recommend the A 6v.
Happier on flat, even lawns
STIGA rates every size for 45% slopes, per the specifications. selbst.de found the navigation very cautious and judged it better suited to level ground than to tricky terrain. top agrar found the low body and small wheels got stuck on bumps and molehills. Lumpy ground seems to matter more than the slope figure. STIGA lists an optional Climb and Mud Kit, but none of the testers tried it.

The questions people ask about this one
Does it need a boundary wire?
No wire and no aerial on a pole; it uses satellite positioning and a camera, per the specifications. You still have to mark out the lawn by driving the mower round in the app, which selbst.de found fiddly enough to recommend having the dealer do it.
Will it cope with my slope?
STIGA claims 45%, per the specifications. selbst.de still judged it better for level ground, and top agrar saw it get stuck on bumps and molehills because of its low body and small wheels. If your lawn is lumpy rather than just steep, be cautious.
How close does it cut to the edge?
Not very close. inside-digital found it kept several centimetres away from edges, so you'll still need a strimmer. The cut everywhere else was excellent, according to both inside-digital and top agrar.
Is there a subscription for 4G or anti-theft?
Connectivity is included for 10 years, per the specifications, and a theft alert can be bought through the app. selbst.de reports a yearly fee for the positioning data after those 10 years, so the first decade is covered but it isn't free forever.
How noisy is it for neighbours?
Quiet. top agrar gave it its best grade for noise, calling it barely noticeable, and inside-digital quotes STIGA's figure of 55 decibels. STIGA's UK product page doesn't list a noise figure in its the specifications.
Which Vista size should I get?
Match it to your lawn. All sizes share the camera, app and 18cm cut, per the specifications; bigger models get bigger batteries and more zones. The A 6v cuts for about 50 minutes a charge and the A 25v for about 150, so top agrar's 1,400m² lawn sat well within the A 25v's limit.

Notebookcheck found it too cautious near edges and plants, leaving uncut patches, and the edge cutter is an optional extra.

Another dealer-backed camera mower, and DigiNytt found its camera effective and never had to rescue it in three months.
DigiNytt found reception worse under thick tree cover, steep banks a struggle and the app dated.
YUKA mini 2 1000
Mammotion is one of the brands inside-digital said STIGA's app trails, and owners praise its object detection.
One owner reported edge-following trouble and boundary overruns after firmware updates, and another owner's setup took about four hours.
