The meaningful benefit is keeping the roller supplied with clean water as it works, rather than simply carrying one dirty cloth around the home.

RTINGS found poor carpet-hair pickup and fine material left in carpet. Sensitive avoidance could also keep the machine away from debris or edges. Our reading is that this is best considered by someone whose main frustration is dirty hard flooring, rather than someone looking to remove deeply embedded hair from many rugs.

Good object protection and close cleaning are not the same result. Inspect the narrow areas you care about rather than assuming excellent avoidance means every edge gets cleaned.

Budget for consumables and give the station an accessible location; the robot reduces chores without eliminating water handling and replacement supplies.
