Our take
Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1000
A strong choice for small but difficult lawns with slopes, trees or rough ground. Owners like the AWD hardware; cloud dependence and software tuning are the main reservations.
Owners praise slope handling, unattended mowing and the ability to cope with trees and uneven gardens.
It depends on Mammotion's connected services, and some owners need trial-and-error zone tuning before it becomes hands-off.
Steep, uneven or segmented gardens.
Flat compact lawns that do not need AWD.
- Independent-motor all-wheel drive
- Dedicated edge-cutting disc
- Automatic multi-zone mapping
What reviewers found
The dedicated edge disc is the clearest benefit in hands-on tests: it can remove much of the finishing work left by ordinary mower decks. Good traction and flexible mapping also attract praise, although the tested software and fixed edge-cutting height introduce practical limits.
Edging is a meaningful improvement
Galaxus tested the 1000 on a small garden with paved edging, hedges and low walls. Running its right wheels along a 10cm stone strip allowed the small side disc to cut grass that other machines left behind. EasyLawnMowing also saw a clear improvement where a previous mower left an uncut border. This advantage is best established where the robot has space to position itself alongside the edge.
[1][2]Automatic mapping still benefits from adjustment
Galaxus had the mower installed and mapped in around half an hour, helped by previous Mammotion experience. Automatic mapping covered 63m²; manual steering expanded that to 70m² by moving closer to a wall and umbrella stand. This is useful evidence that a successful automatic map can still leave worthwhile grass outside its working area.
[1]The setup restrictions to check
EasyLawnMowing’s April 2026 test required the first mapped area to be within five metres of the dock and encountered a practical distance limit between zones. Its reviewer liked the app, navigation and obstacle avoidance overall, but reported missing positioning detail compared with the older app. Those are dated software observations: confirm current behaviour if you have a long route between separate lawns.
[2]Cut height and carrying it
EasyLawnMowing found the side disc fixed at 50mm even when the main deck was lower. It also found frequent carrying awkward because of the weight, despite appreciating temporary drop-and-mow use. These observations concern the 1000 camera/NetRTK version, not the later 1500 LiDAR variant.
