Our take
Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000
A capable small mower with excellent obstacle detection once it is set up properly. The main risk is software behaviour changing after updates.
Owners praise object detection, Drop & Mow, slope handling and generally good autonomous mowing.
Setup is not especially intuitive, and some owners report edge-cutting and behaviour problems after firmware updates.
Lawns up to 1,000m² with trees, narrow paths or unreliable satellite reception.
Owners needing confirmed immediate UK stock.
- 60m-range 360° LiDAR — positioning technology helps the robot work out where it is.
- Automatic mapping and no-go zones
- Stores up to ten lawn maps
What owners and reviewers say
Owner reports show both successful hands-off cutting and persistent boundary frustrations. The useful distinction is between an encouraging early setup and evidence that the same map remains dependable after software changes.
A successful setup still took time
In a discussion of the 1000H variant, one owner reported spending about four hours setting up two zones and their connecting path. They found the software took learning, but praised object detection and temporary mowing in an enclosed back garden. Another said the mower regained its position after being lifted for cleaning. These are positive individual reports, with a different cutting-height variant clearly identified.
[1]Edges and updates can change the experience
A 1000 owner on Roboter-Forum described trouble following a manually mapped edge on a simple rectangular 185m² lawn. Corners remained uncut, and the owner reported boundary overruns and wheel digging after updates, with firmware 2.3.30.39 installed when posting. This is a specific complaint, not a demonstrated failure rate.
[2]What the disagreement means
The accounts support checking the first completed cut and rechecking vulnerable boundaries after changes. They do not establish that LiDAR is universally unreliable or that one setting resolves every problem. Long-term support quality and the prevalence of the reported faults remain unclear from these sources.
[1][2]Positive reports include the 1000H cutting-height variant; they are not a battery or cut-height comparison with the standard 1000.
