Our take
Wandercraft Calvin-40
Calvin-40 has something many humanoids still lack: a named industrial trial doing a physically meaningful job. Renault's tyre-handling work is useful evidence, although it remains a pilot rather than proof of a scalable autonomous workforce.
The Renault Douai trial gives the platform credible evidence around handling heavy automotive parts in a real factory setting.
The deployment is still limited, pricing is not public and the business case has not yet been demonstrated at large fleet scale.

What the evidence shows
Calvin-40 is aimed at heavy and repetitive industrial handling, with first-series delivery currently described for the first half of 2027. It should be judged as a deployment programme.
The intended work is concrete
Wandercraft describes moving boxes and crates, material flow and expanding into more precise picking and kitting. It also offers proof-of-concept work in customer facilities. That gives an industrial buyer a useful basis for a narrowly defined trial.
[1]Targets are not recorded failure rates
The manufacturer labels its reliability figure as a target and presents productivity improvements as company claims. Neither should be represented as an independent customer result. Our assessment is to request demonstrated throughput, intervention frequency and support terms for the exact task before committing.
[1]Available evidence describes the platform; it does not establish everyday household ownership or long-term reliability.
