Owners specifically warned that the S20 did not automatically protect carpet when mopping. Xiaomi provides virtual walls and restricted areas in the app, alongside its repeated Y-shaped mopping route. Our interpretation is to map rugs out of wet-cleaning areas and treat the pad as something you wash and manage yourself.

The original owner found the highest suction setting loud, while another thought it quieter than a conventional vacuum. Xiaomi’s documentation shows an onboard dustbin and water tank rather than a full servicing station. The best fit is someone willing to empty, refill and prepare the floor in exchange for affordable scheduled cleaning.
