Roomba Plus 515 Combo
Limited evidenceRead the findings →iRobot's slim mid-range vacuum and mop, with a dock that washes and dries its spinning pads. It suits smaller homes with low furniture and fairly clear floors. It has no camera to spot objects, so you'll need to tidy the floor before each run.

What we know
Three reviews, but only one full test. Just A Dad Approved gave it a proper workout and calls the cleaning about good, but marks it down for weak obstacle avoidance, hair wrap under heavy long-hair testing and Wi-Fi dropouts. CoNowego.pl and Vonguru were more positive, but both mostly restate iRobot's feature list, so we only use the few things they saw for themselves. None of the three measured pickup, so treat the cleaning verdicts as impressions.
Just A Dad Approved, hands-on · CoNowego.pl, hands-on, Aug 2026 (Mostly restates iRobot's feature list, with few first-hand observations) · Vonguru, hands-on, Sept 2026 (Mostly restates iRobot's feature list, with few first-hand observations)
Slim enough for low furniture
The low body is the main reason to pick it. Just A Dad Approved found the thin body gets under more furniture than most, and Vonguru says the 8.35cm height makes a real difference in use, opening up spots bigger robots can't reach. The dock is a different matter: CoNowego.pl notes it isn't small and needs a permanent spot. Measure under your sofa and check where the dock will live before you buy.
Cleaning is good, not outstanding
Just A Dad Approved rates both vacuuming and mopping as fine: not the best he has tested, but not bad. He likes the springy side brush, which reaches into corners and bounces off obstacles, but a guard keeps the mop pad slightly off the wall. He also found the water tank inside the robot keeps the pads wet during a run, a real improvement on the Plus 415. Vonguru found it at ease with everyday dust and crumbs.
No camera, so tidy up first
Just A Dad Approved found obstacle avoidance poor, and says the 575's camera is a big step up; his map also came out slightly off. The 515 steers by laser alone, with no camera to recognise objects, per the specifications. iRobot says it avoids shoes, toys and pet bowls, but that's not what the full test found, so pick cables and socks off the floor before a run.
Hair: fine day to day
CoNowego.pl found hair barely tangled on the rubber brush during testing. Just A Dad Approved saw no wrap in normal use either, but when he pushed it with deliberate long-hair tests the single-piece roller did wrap, though it cut free easily. He also found the bin filter has plastic glued into it, so it can't be washed and has to be replaced more often. In a long-haired household, expect some brush clearing.
Wi-Fi drops and stamina questions
Just A Dad Approved had it drop off Wi-Fi repeatedly on two different networks, fixed only by holding the power button for 10 to 15 seconds, and had to force-close the app when it froze. There's no do-not-disturb setting, so a big job can resume in the middle of the night. Range divides testers: CoNowego.pl cleaned a flat of about 72 square metres without recharging, while Just A Dad Approved found it struggled in a larger home.
CoNowego.pl and Vonguru mostly repeat iRobot's feature list, so they don't count as full tests. Only their own first-hand observations are used here.
Our take
Should you buy the Roomba Plus 515 Combo?
Best for: Small homes with low furniture and little space for a dock. Skip it if: Cables, socks or small toys are often left on your floors.
buy it for a flat or small house with low furniture, if you keep the floor fairly clear and want pads washed and dried for you. The Plus 575 adds the camera, and the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra suits a bigger home.
The Plus 515 Combo is the middle of iRobot's compact Plus range, between the Plus 415 and the Plus 575. All three share the same slim body, 8.35cm tall, that fits under more furniture than older Roombas. Over the 415 it adds a water tank in the robot to keep its two spinning pads wet and a dock that washes the pads in hot water, but it lacks the 575's front camera.
In the one full test, Just A Dad Approved rated the cleaning as good, but marked it down for weak obstacle avoidance, hair wrapping under heavy long-hair testing and Wi-Fi dropouts that needed hard reboots. He also found it struggled in a larger home. Two other write-ups, from CoNowego.pl and Vonguru, were more positive but mostly restate iRobot's claims, though one cleaned a 72 square metre flat on a single charge. The dock has no cleaning-solution tank.
Before you buy
The questions people ask about this one
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Don't count on it. Just A Dad Approved found its obstacle avoidance poor, and it lacks the camera the Plus 575 uses to recognise objects, per the specifications. Clear cables, socks and anything a pet might leave before it runs.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Better than most robots. It's 8.35cm tall and 29.8cm wide, per the specifications, and Just A Dad Approved and Vonguru both found it reached under furniture that bigger robots can't. Measure the gap under your sofa and bed first.
Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?
No, but it lifts its pads 10mm before crossing rugs, per the specifications, and Vonguru saw it raise them before driving onto a rug. For deep-pile rugs, add a no-mop zone in the app to be safe.
How big is the dock?
It's 33cm deep, 34cm wide and 48.5cm tall, per the specifications. CoNowego.pl says it isn't one of the smallest docks and needs a permanent spot, and iRobot asks for it to sit on a hard floor with space around it.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
iRobot claims up to three months between dust-bag changes, per the specifications, and the dock washes and dries the pads itself. You still fill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty one. Just A Dad Approved notes the bin filter can't be washed, so buy spares.
Will it cope with a large home?
iRobot claims up to 295 minutes of running, per the specifications. CoNowego.pl cleaned a 72 square metre flat on one charge, but Just A Dad Approved found it struggled in a larger home, and with no do-not-disturb setting it may finish off at night.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

Omni C20
Why consider it: A similarly slim robot that fits under low furniture, with a dock that empties the bin and washes the pads.
The compromise: It can't see small obstacles either, so you still tidy up first.

Qrevo Edge 2
Why consider it: Also slim, and it tested superbly on carpet and dried-on stains.
The compromise: It's weak at dodging clutter and at climbing doorway thresholds much over 2cm.

P10 Pro Ultra
Why consider it: Runs for ages on a charge, so it suits larger homes, and its dock washes the mops in hot water.
The compromise: All three tests found it weak on pet hair in carpet.
