A budget Roborock with a plain drag mop that lifts over carpet, sold alone or, as the X5+, with a self-emptying dock. Its sibling vacuums hard and resists hair, but dodges clutter badly.

The short version
The Q10 X5 sits near the bottom of Roborock's range, next to the Q10 S5. The two share the same basic robot: a laser turret for room maps, the same claimed suction, a hair-resistant brush and a light-based obstacle sensor. The difference is the mop. The S5 has a vibrating pad, while the X5 drags a flat, non-vibrating pad that lifts when it reaches carpet. The X5+ adds a small dock that empties the bin into a bag.
Nobody has published a full test of the X5 or X5+ yet, so everything below comes from reviews of the Q10 S5+. That covers the vacuuming, hair handling, obstacle avoidance and the self-emptying dock, but not the X5's own mop. On the S5+, testers split sharply on carpet pickup and all found it poor with cables and small clutter.
Neither version washes its mop or refills water, so the pad and tank are your job.
Our take: Consider it if you want mapped vacuuming with a basic wipe on a tight budget, your floors are fairly clear, and you're happy to wash the pad yourself. Get the X5+ if you hate emptying the bin. Skip it if your floors are cluttered or you want proper scrubbing: the Q10 S5 adds a vibrating pad, and the Qrevo S5V's dock washes and dries its mops. What reviewers found
No reviewer has tested the X5 or X5+ yet. These findings come from three tests of its sibling, the Q10 S5+, which shares the robot, suction, brush, sensors and dock: measured tests from Vacuum Wars and TechGearLab, and a home test from Tom's Guide. All three agree obstacle avoidance is weak. They disagree about carpet and pet hair: Vacuum Wars recorded class-leading results, while TechGearLab collected only about a third of its pet hair. Nobody has tested the X5's own flat mop.

Clear the floor first
Vacuum Wars scored the S5+ 6 out of 24 for obstacle avoidance, against an average of 16.6, and advises picking up cords, socks and small toys before runs. TechGearLab saw it detect only about 40% of obstacles, tangle with cords and roll through simulated pet mess. Tom's Guide had it stuck on table legs and in the fireplace. The X5 uses the same structured-light sensor, per the specifications, so expect the same. If you can't tidy before a run, spend more.
Carpet cleaning: excellent or middling
Vacuum Wars measured the fourth-highest suction of more than 150 robots on the S5+, and it removed 96% of sand worked into carpet plus 96% of pet hair. TechGearLab saw a weaker robot: good with sand and edges, hit-and-miss with cereal, and only about 36% of pet hair collected before it declared itself finished. Tom's Guide found it picked up small rocks, hair and seeds easily. Nobody has explained the gap, so test it on your own carpets while you can return it.
Hair stays off the brush
The anti-tangle brush works on the sibling. Vacuum Wars found the S5+ removed all the hair in its 7-inch tangle test, where the average robot leaves about 38% wrapped. Roborock fits the X5 with the same dual anti-tangle system, per the specifications. On a cheap robot, that's one less job to do with scissors.
Battery life depends on settings
Vacuum Wars measured above-average battery efficiency on the S5+, enough for an estimated 1,243 square feet per charge. Tom's Guide got only about 30 minutes on a medium setting in a mostly carpeted home, and at maximum power it needed three recharges to finish the house. It returns to recharge and carries on either way, but a big carpeted home on high suction will take hours.
All three reviews tested the Q10 S5+, which has a vibrating mop pad instead of the X5's flat one. Their vacuuming, obstacle and dock findings apply to the X5+; nothing here covers the X5's mop.

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Probably not. Its sibling scored 6 out of 24 for obstacles with Vacuum Wars, and TechGearLab watched it roll through simulated pet mess. The X5 has the same light-based sensor and no camera, per the specifications. Pick everything up before each run.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
It depends on the dock. The plain X5 only charges, so you empty the bin yourself. The X5+ dock empties the bin and Roborock says it holds over seven weeks of dust, per the specifications. Neither dock touches the mop or water tank, so you fill the tank and wash the pad yourself.
Can it keep the wet mop off my carpet?
Roborock says a carpet sensor lifts or lowers the mop automatically, per the specifications. Nobody has tested how well that works on the X5 yet, so keep thick rugs out of mopping runs until you've seen it in your home.
How big is the X5+ dock, and is it loud?
Small: Roborock lists it at 212 x 178 x 259mm, per the specifications, about the size Tom's Guide measured for the S5+ dock. Tom's Guide found emptying very loud and disruptive on the sibling, so schedule runs for when you're out.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Only gaps of about 10cm or more. Roborock lists the robot at 3.9in (9.9cm) tall, per the specifications, with the laser turret on top. Tom's Guide measured the sibling S5+ at 3.8 inches.
