RV50 Pro Omni
2 independent reviewsRead the findings →Tapo's top vacuum and mop, with a dock that empties, washes and dries, and pads it can leave behind for carpet. It suits mixed floors and finds its way round better than most. It only takes Tapo's own detergent cartridges.

What reviewers found
Both Expert Reviews and T3 liked the mopping and the dock. Expert Reviews praised its route planning and the removable pads, while T3 found little hair wrapped round the cutting brush. Neither test tells you how it copes with hair in deep carpet or how it holds up long-term, and Expert Reviews saw it hit a fake pet mess. Both raised concerns about the detergent cartridge. The dock also still leaves water, bag and tray upkeep to you.
Expert Reviews, hands-on, Dec 2025 · T3, hands-on, Several weeks at home, Feb 2026
Hard floors
Reviewers rate it highlyExpert Reviews found it matched the pricier Eufy E25 in every standard pickup test and missed little along skirting boards, and T3 found it did its best work on hard floors.
Carpet and rugs
Mixed resultsT3 found it handled carpeted rooms well but was stronger on hard floors, and Expert Reviews saw it climb onto fluffy rugs without trouble. Neither measured deep-pile pickup, so thick carpet is still an open question.
Pet hair
Not enough evidenceOnly T3 judged hair: its cutting brush stopped hair wrapping round the roller completely over weeks of testing. No other review we use has checked pet-hair pickup yet.
Mopping
Reviewers rate it highlyExpert Reviews saw dried ketchup and coffee lifted faster than by the Eufy E25 or Dreame Aqua10, and T3 called the mopping excellent, with the extending pad reaching right up to kitchen cabinets.
Navigation and obstacles
Reviewers rate it highlyExpert Reviews found the routes sensible and saw it reverse out of gaps that trapped rivals and dodge cables and shoes, though it hit a fake pet mess. T3 found mapping quick, with rooms created automatically.
Dock and upkeep
Reviewers rate it highlyT3 found the dock compact and the upkeep minimal, and Expert Reviews liked the way it holds the mop pads for carpet runs. Both object to the detergent cartridge, which can't be refilled.
App and software
Reviewers rate it highlyExpert Reviews found Tapo's app simpler and easier to master than Dreame's while covering all the basics, and T3 found setup easy, with room, zone and no-go controls and a handy Point and Go feature.
Noise
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use tested its noise yet.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged Tapo's support; both tests covered only a few weeks.
Value
Mixed resultsExpert Reviews recommended it at the offer price it saw. T3 liked the cleaning but wanted more for the full asking price. Both views are dated, so compare today's offers and detergent costs rather than relying on the old discount.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Navigation that rarely needs rescuing
Expert Reviews called its navigation impossible to fault. It mapped two floors quickly, took sensible routes, reversed out of a tight gap by a bedside table that trapped rival robots, and cleaned under a bed again and again without getting stuck. It only stranded itself once, at the top of the stairs, and a no-go zone fixed that. T3 also found mapping quick, with rooms created automatically. If other robots have needed rescuing in your home, this is the reason to look at it.
Mops that stay home for carpet
The two mop pads attach with magnets, and Expert Reviews watched the robot leave them in the dock when it met deep carpet. Their reviewer called it the first robot feature that made them think "now that's clever". Mopping was excellent in both tests: Expert Reviews saw dried ketchup and coffee lifted faster than by the eufy E25 or Dreame Aqua10, and T3 liked how the pads reach out to clean right up to kitchen cabinets. With mixed floors, that saves you a real chore.
Good vacuuming, best on hard floors
Despite a lower suction figure, Expert Reviews found it matched the eufy Omni E25 on every one of their standard pickup tests. It was slower, though: an intense clean of a 24m² floor took 55 minutes, while using only 39% of the battery. T3 found it did well on carpet and hard floors, but best on hard floors, and never felt underpowered. Neither test measured deep carpet in a lab, so there's no measured result for thick pile yet.
Hair stays off the brush
Each time the robot returns to the dock, a blade cuts away hair wrapped round the main brush. T3 found this stopped hair wrapping completely over weeks of testing, and the underside stayed clean. Expert Reviews saw it dodge shoes, curtains, chair feet and a tangle of office cables, but it drove into a fake pet mess and lost a fight with a bathroom pedestal mat. Clear away anything a pet leaves behind, and block off loose bathroom mats.
Stuck with Tapo's detergent
Both Expert Reviews and T3 flagged the detergent cartridge. It slots into the dock, can't be refilled, and wasn't sold on its own when either reviewed it. T3 expected the supplied one to last months, and Expert Reviews thought one would cover several months of weekly mopping in a small kitchen. The dock is otherwise easy to live with. T3 found it compact enough to sit beside a sideboard, and Expert Reviews liked its matt black look.
Our take
Should you buy the RV50 Pro Omni?
Best for: Homes wanting to mop hard floors while keeping rugs dry. Skip it if: Pet hair embedded in carpet is your main cleaning problem.
Consider it for mixed floors if leaving wet mop pads in the dock matters. Both home tests liked its mopping, and Expert Reviews found it rarely needed rescuing, although it hit fake pet mess. T3 found a clean brush, but that doesn't prove it picks up hair from carpet. The E25 has more hair testing behind it, but its attached wet roller is a drawback on deeper rugs.
The RV50 Pro Omni is the top of Tapo's range, with two spinning mop pads, one of which reaches out to edges, and a dock that empties the bin, washes the pads in hot water, dries them and adds detergent. The pads attach with magnets, so the robot can leave them in the dock when it is only vacuuming, which keeps deep rugs dry. The detergent comes in a cartridge that cannot be refilled.
Expert Reviews called its navigation impossible to fault, as it reversed out of a tight gap that trapped rival robots and cleaned under a bed without getting stuck, and it matched the pricier Eufy E25 in every standard pickup test. T3 found it did its best work on hard floors and never felt underpowered, and its cutting brush stopped hair wrapping round the roller completely over weeks. Expert Reviews saw dried ketchup and coffee lifted faster than by the Eufy E25 or Dreame Aqua10, and T3 called the mopping excellent. It did drive into a fake pet mess for Expert Reviews. Both object to the detergent cartridge, which was not sold on its own when either tested it, and neither test measured deep-pile carpet. Expert Reviews made it a Best Buy at its offer price, while T3 felt its suction was low for the full price.

The questions people ask about this one
Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?
Yes, and that's its best trick. The pads are magnetic, and Expert Reviews saw the robot drop them at the dock when deep carpet was coming up. It also lifts the pads over short-pile carpet, per the specifications. You don't need to take anything off by hand.
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Expert Reviews saw it avoid shoes and a knot of office cables but drive into a fake pet mess. One good cable result doesn't mean it will miss every thin wire. Clear cables and pet accidents before a run, even if the mapping works well in your home.
Does it fit under low furniture?
It's 10.03cm tall with a fixed laser turret, per the specifications. Expert Reviews found it just squeezed under their bed and got back out every time. Anything much lower than that is off-limits, so measure first.
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
It climbs up to 2cm, per the specifications. Expert Reviews found that enough for badly fitted edging strips between rooms and for fluffy rugs, but it tangled with a bathroom pedestal mat. Mark loose mats as no-go zones.
Do I have to use Tapo's detergent?
In the dock, yes. Expert Reviews and T3 both found the cartridge is shaped for the dock and can't be refilled. The dock adds detergent automatically, per the specifications, so budget for Tapo's refills.
Does it need an account?
Yes. Expert Reviews set it up through the Tapo app with a Tapo account, and it only connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It works with Alexa and Google Home through that account, and with Matter, per the specifications.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

Omni E25
Why consider it: Tests put it among the best for pet hair, with a self-rinsing roller mop and a full dock.
The compromise: Hard stains and rug edges gave testers trouble, and it can't keep its wet roller off deeper carpet.

Qrevo S5V
Why consider it: Excellent mopping and carpet cleaning for the money, with a dock that washes and dries the pads.
The compromise: Some of the worst small-object avoidance in tests, so floors need tidying first.

P10 Pro Ultra
Why consider it: Good hard-floor pickup and long tested battery coverage, with a dock that washes and dries its pads.
The compromise: Its obstacle tests disagree and all three found weak carpet-hair pickup; its pads lift but stay attached.

Head to head
eufy Omni E25 vs RV50 Pro Omni
Our verdict: Expert Reviews tested both and gave each a Best Buy. The E25 cleans faster and doesn't tie you to one detergent. The RV50 navigates more consistently and leaves its mops in the dock for carpet. For heavy pet hair, the E25 has more evidence behind it.
