What we know
Everything here comes from Anthbot's own product page: two cutting systems you swap by hand, a 23-litre bag that empties itself at a spot you choose, and the same satellite-and-camera navigation as the M series. Anthbot also says it's louder when collecting, and bigger and heavier than its other mowers. The one detailed English article we found, from PCWorld, is sponsored content that repeats Anthbot's claims, so we don't count it as a review.
Bags clippings or mulches them
The N8 comes with two cutting systems, per Anthbot. The collecting one uses a three-blade disc spinning at 4,000rpm to lift clippings and throw them into a 23-litre bag, like a vacuum. The mulching one uses six blades to chop clippings finely and scatter them back into the grass. You swap between them by hand, so pick the one that suits the season. Bagging is the reason to buy this mower over Anthbot's others.
It empties itself
A sensor watches how full the bag is, according to Anthbot. When it's full, the mower drives to a dumping point you set in the app, tips the bag out and carries on. In autumn the same system is meant to pick up leaves, chopping them on the way in so more fit in the bag. You'll still have a heap to deal with at the dumping spot.
Same wire-free approach as the M series
Like the M5 and M9, the N8 uses satellite positioning corrected by an aerial near the dock, or over mobile data instead of the aerial, per Anthbot. Two wide-angle cameras on the front are meant to keep it on course under trees and spot more than 1,000 kinds of obstacle. Anthbot says setup takes about ten minutes. You'll still want a reasonably clear view of the sky, as with any mower that relies on satellites.
Shorter runs with the bag on
The N8 has a much bigger battery than the M series, but it also does more work. Anthbot quotes 90 minutes of mowing per charge, 135m² an hour and about 200m² per charge with the bag fitted, with an 80-minute recharge. It says the mower can still climb 45% slopes with the bag on and cross 40mm bumps. Expect a big lawn to take several charges when you're collecting.
Still to be proven
Nobody independent has tested the N8 yet, so the parts that make it different are all open questions. How cleanly does it bag clippings and leaves? Does it find the dumping spot every time, and how often does the bag fill? How far does a charge really go with the bag on, against the 200m² Anthbot quotes? And how loud is it when collecting?
Our take
Should you buy the N8?
Best for: Lawns where collecting leaves or clippings matters. Skip it if: You want a mower with independent tests of this exact version.
consider it if clippings and leaves on the lawn are the reason you haven't bought a robot mower and your garden is open enough for satellite positioning. If you just want a proven wire-free mower that mulches, the Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD has independent testing behind it.
The N8 is the Anthbot mower that collects what it cuts. Like the Genie and the M series it finds its way by satellite, with an aerial by the dock and two front cameras. One cutting module sucks clippings and leaves into a 23-litre bag, and when the bag is full it drives to a dumping spot you mark in the app. Swap in the second module and it mulches like a normal robot mower.
The one detailed English article, from PCWorld, is sponsored content that repeats Anthbot's claims, so everything here comes from the maker. Anthbot says it mows about 200m² per charge with the bag fitted, is louder when collecting, and is bigger and heavier than its other mowers. You swap the cutting modules by hand, and you'll still have a heap to clear at the dumping spot.

The questions people ask about this one
Does it need a boundary wire?
No. It finds its position from satellites, corrected by an aerial near the dock or over mobile data, and uses two cameras to spot obstacles, per the specifications. Anthbot says you can let it map the lawn on its own or drive it round the edge from the app.
Will it cope with my slope?
Anthbot claims 45% slopes with the collection bag attached, and 40mm bumps, per the specifications. Nobody has tested those figures, and the extra weight of a full bag is exactly what a real slope test would show up.
How noisy is it for neighbours?
Anthbot quotes 58dB or less when mowing or mulching, rising to 68dB or less when collecting clippings or sweeping leaves, per the specifications. So it's noticeably louder in bagging mode, which matters if you plan to run it early or late.
Is there a subscription for 4G or anti-theft?
The N8 has 4G built in, with the first year of data included and yearly renewals after that, per the specifications. The same page also says the network positioning service is bought separately, so check what's included before relying on it instead of the aerial.
What happens when it rains?
It's rated IPX6, so it can be hosed down, and a rain sensor plus weather forecasts send it back to the dock, per the specifications. Anthbot says it then adjusts its mowing schedule automatically.
Alternatives

LUBA mini 2 AWD 1000
£59.88 more than the N8
Why consider it: A tested wire-free mower whose side edge disc cut much of the grass other mowers leave along borders.
The compromise: It mulches only, and the tested app and a fixed edge-cutting height set some practical limits.

i2 AWD
Why consider it: An all-wheel-drive wire-free mower, and one owner found its network positioning worked well in open areas.
The compromise: The same owner reported poor positioning in narrow strips beside the house, which support didn't fix.

X5 Gen 2
Why consider it: Inside Digital found its cut clean and its edge trimming powerful.
The compromise: The same test exposed weak positioning and trouble with small objects.
