VISIMOW18V (18V-100 and 18V-200)
2 independent reviewsRead the findings →Bosch's small wire-free mower for tiny lawns, running on its power-tool batteries with no app or dock. It's about as easy as robot mowing gets. It stops short of the lawn edge, and you carry it in to charge.

What reviewers found
Two reviewers tested the 18V-100, and both liked it. Expert Reviews used it on several lawns over about two months and gave it a Best Buy for how easy it is to use and how well it avoided beds and paths, but it left a wide uncut strip round the edge and got stuck in a sharp dip. On a 38m² lawn, Ideal Home gave it 4 out of 5, praising the even cut and simple setup, though it found obstacle avoidance slower than on pricier mowers.
Expert Reviews, hands-on, About 2 months, Jul 2026 (tested on the VISIMOW18V-100; Tested on several lawns, from 30m² to 60m²) · Ideal Home, hands-on, Apr 2026 (tested on the VISIMOW18V-100; Tested on a level 38m² lawn)
Cut quality and edges
Mixed resultsThe cut itself is good: Ideal Home called it one of the most even it had seen from a robot mower, and Expert Reviews found it mowed cleanly without scalping. But both found it left the edges uncut, a band 20 to 30cm wide for Expert Reviews.
Setup and boundaries
Reviewers rate it highlyThere's no wire, dock or app to set up. Ideal Home called it the easiest robot mower it had unpacked, and Expert Reviews found setup spectacularly easy, with a mower light enough for less mobile gardeners to carry.
Navigation
Mixed resultsIt wanders at random and is slow: Expert Reviews found a 60m² lawn took about 90 minutes, and Ideal Home found it slower than pricier mowers. Ideal Home did find it covered more of the margins round stepping stones than others it had tested.
Slopes and rough ground
Not enough evidenceOnly Expert Reviews tested uneven ground, and had to rescue it a couple of times from a sharp dip. Ideal Home's lawn was level.
Obstacles and safety
Mixed resultsFixed obstacles are fine: Expert Reviews saw it avoid a hedge, a path and a rockery, and it never hit a border for Ideal Home. It's slower with surprises, and Ideal Home saw it sometimes bump a cap thrown in front of it before turning.
Weather
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use tested it in rain or on wet grass. Expert Reviews notes an IPX5 rating but didn't try it on a wet lawn.
App and software
Not enough evidenceThere's no app to judge. Ideal Home notes that means no lawn mapping and little customisation, and that software updates need a USB stick.
Upkeep
Not enough evidenceOnly Ideal Home covered upkeep, finding it easy to turn over and brush the grassy underside clean, taking care with the three small blades.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use covers long-term ownership or judges Bosch's support. Expert Reviews used it over about two months without reporting faults.
Value
Reviewers rate it highlyIdeal Home calls it an absolute steal for its price, and Expert Reviews says there's little else as simple and effective for the money, if you can live with trimming the edges.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Out of the box in minutes
Both reviewers found setup about as simple as it gets. You charge the battery, clip it in, pick a cutting height on the dial and press three numbered buttons. Ideal Home called it the easiest robot mower it had unpacked, and setup a breeze, and Expert Reviews called it spectacularly easy, adding that it's light enough for older or less mobile gardeners to carry. If laying wire or wrestling with an app is what's put you off robot mowers, this removes both.
Sees what isn't grass
Bosch fits a camera, ultrasonic sensors and bump sensors, per the specifications. Expert Reviews found it steered clear of a box hedge, a concrete path and a rockery, and stopped at brown patches and a manhole cover. Ideal Home saw it never hit fixed borders, and it covered more of the margins round stepping stones than other mowers the site had tested. It was slower to react to surprises, though: a cap thrown in front of it sometimes got a gentle bump before it stopped and turned.
Edges are the main compromise
Expert Reviews found a band of longer grass 20 to 30cm wide left round the perimeter, so it finished the edges with a normal mower. Ideal Home also found it didn't quite reach the outer edges, though it called the rest of the cut one of the most even it had seen from a robot mower. Neither got stripes, because it wanders at random. On a small lawn the edge is a big share of the grass, so plan for that extra job.
Short grass, gentle slopes
Expert Reviews found it cut cleanly without scalping, but it works best taking about 10mm at a time and needs grass under about 80mm to begin with. Bosch rates it for 35% slopes, per the specifications, yet it had to be rescued a couple of times from a sharp dip on one test lawn. Ideal Home's lawn was level. Give the grass a trim first, and if your lawn has a steep dip, watch its first few runs.
Slow, and you carry it to charge
There's no dock, so it can't recharge itself. Expert Reviews found a 60m² lawn took about 90 minutes to cover, and a 4.0Ah battery mowed a 30m² lawn to a high standard before running flat. Ideal Home found its 38m² lawn took around an hour, slower than pricier mowers, and struggled to pull the battery out afterwards. Software updates need a USB stick, it adds. The battery fits other Power for All tools, per the specifications.
Both reviews cover the VISIMOW18V-100. The 18V-200 shares the camera and sensors but has a wider cut and a larger rated area; it hasn't been independently reviewed yet.
Our take
Should you buy the VISIMOW18V (18V-100 and 18V-200)?
Best for: Small, simple lawns whose owners want no app or boundary wire. Skip it if: You want it to return to a dock and recharge itself.
Buy it if your lawn is small and simple, you already own Bosch 18V batteries, and you'd rather trim the edges yourself than lay wire or set up an app. For a mower that docks and recharges on its own, the eufy E15 does far more, and GARDENA's SILENO minimo is a fully automatic wired option for small lawns.
The VISIMOW has no boundary wire, no app and no dock. You clip in a standard Bosch 18V power-tool battery, set it on the grass and press three buttons, and a camera backed by ultrasonic and bump sensors works out what is lawn. The 18V-100 is rated for lawns up to 100m² and the 18V-200 for twice that with a slightly wider cut. It doesn't go back to charge itself, so you carry it in when the battery runs down.
Both reviewers tested the 18V-100 and both liked it. Ideal Home called it the easiest robot mower it had unpacked and the cut one of the most even it had seen from a robot, and gave it four out of five. Expert Reviews used it on several lawns over about two months, found setup spectacularly easy and gave it a Best Buy. The edges are the drawback. Expert Reviews found a band of longer grass up to 30cm wide left round the perimeter and finished it with a normal mower, and Ideal Home also found it stopped short of the outer edge. It is slow, taking about an hour and a half on Expert Reviews' sixty square metre lawn, and Expert Reviews had to rescue it a couple of times from a sharp dip. Ideal Home saw it sometimes gently bump a cap thrown in front of it before turning.

The questions people ask about this one
Does it need a boundary wire?
No. It uses a camera with ultrasonic and bump sensors to tell lawn from everything else, per the specifications. Expert Reviews found it avoided paths, hedges and a rockery on its own, and Ideal Home saw it steer round stepping stones, with no wire and no app.
How close does it cut to the edge?
Not all the way. Expert Reviews found a 20 to 30cm band of longer grass left round the lawn, and Ideal Home also found the outer edges uncut. You'll need to finish them with another mower or a trimmer.
Will it cope with my slope?
Bosch rates it for 35%, per the specifications, but Expert Reviews had to fetch it a couple of times when it got stuck in a sharp dip. Ideal Home notes that Bosch's manual asks for a raised border along steeper drops.
Does it charge itself?
No. There's no dock, so you carry it in and charge the removable 18V battery, per the specifications. Expert Reviews found a 4.0Ah battery mowed a 30m² lawn before running flat, and Ideal Home found the battery fiddly to remove.
How noisy is it for neighbours?
Very quiet, both reviewers say. Ideal Home quotes 52dB and calls it the quietest robot mower it has tested, while Expert Reviews quotes 44dBA. Neither says it measured the figure itself, and Bosch's UK page in the the specifications doesn't list one.
Alternatives
Other robot lawn mowers to compare.

E15 Robot Lawn Mower
Why consider it: Wire-free with a dock and automatic mapping, and one owner was ready to mow in about ten minutes.
The compromise: A long-term owner had a faulty cutting-height mechanism that caused overheating until the mower was replaced.

SILENO minimo 500
Why consider it: A fully automatic small-lawn mower that docks itself, and Clubic found it compact and very quiet.
The compromise: You have to plan and lay boundary and guide wires, and it's controlled over Bluetooth only.

EasiLife Go 500
Why consider it: Gardeners' World found quiet, even mowing on a small, simple lawn, with a basic but usable app.
The compromise: Gardeners' World found the guide-wire connections fiddly, and changing the cutting height needs a hex key.
