What reviewers found
Three home tests, three very different results. TechRadar spent several weeks with it on a UK lawn and called it the easiest robot mower it had set up. Trusted Reviews tried it on a country garden of more than 500m² with slopes and on a small suburban lawn, and liked it on the flat but not on bumps. For Tom's Guide it slipped on damp grass, got stuck and left path edges uncut. All three praise the cut itself. The split seems to come down to lawn condition: flat, dry and well kept suits it; lumpy or damp doesn't.

Cut quality and edges
Mixed resultsAll three liked the cut itself, and TechRadar got perfectly straight parallel lines. Edges are the gap: it can overhang a flat path, per Trusted Reviews, but not raised beds or fences, and Tom's Guide had every edge left to trim.
Setup and boundaries
Mixed resultsTechRadar and Trusted Reviews found it the easiest mower to start, mapping itself in about 15 minutes. But the map needed fixing each time: it took in a parking space for Trusted Reviews and left out real grass for Tom's Guide.
Navigation
Mixed resultsOn a flat, well-kept lawn, TechRadar found it navigated methodically for weeks without a slip. Tom's Guide kept having to rescue it when it got stuck, and Trusted Reviews saw it struggle on bumpy ground.
Slopes and rough ground
Reviewers found problemsTrusted Reviews saw its bumper dig in on slight undulations, leaving the rear wheels spinning, and it fell off a steep border several times. Tom's Guide found its hard wheels slipped even on a flat, damp lawn.
Obstacles and safety
Mixed resultsTrusted Reviews found it avoided chairs, tables and clutter very well, and TechRadar saw it dodge anything bigger than a tennis ball. Tom's Guide had it mark a filled-in hole as an obstacle, then drive over it four times.
Weather
Mixed resultsTechRadar and Tom's Guide both saw the rain sensor send it home. Wet grass is the problem: Tom's Guide found it slipped on damp mornings. It also can't mow after dark.
App and software
Reviewers rate it highlyTechRadar found the app highly intuitive, making schedules and settings easy, and Trusted Reviews liked having more settings than rival camera mowers, though commands were sometimes slow to reach the mower.
Upkeep
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use has covered blade changes or cleaning yet.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged eufy's support. TechRadar tested it for several weeks.
Value
Not enough evidenceOnly TechRadar clearly judged value, finding it competitively priced with a roofed dock included. No other review we use weighed up the price.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Very easy setup, maps sometimes wrong
TechRadar had it mapped and ready in about 15 minutes, with the E15 telling grass from planting on its own. The map isn't always right, though. It took in a scrubby patch for TechRadar and a parking space for Trusted Reviews, and for Tom's Guide it left out real grass and treated slightly longer patches as obstacles. Mistakes are easy to fix: you draw no-go zones and boundaries on the app map. TechRadar wanted a manual mapping option, which it didn't have at the time.
Needs flat, dry grass
Grip is the E15's weak spot. Tom's Guide found the hard plastic wheels slipped on damp grass on a flat lawn, and it kept having to rescue the mower. Trusted Reviews saw the front bumper dig in on slight undulations, leaving the rear wheels spinning, and it fell off a steep border into a flowerbed several times. TechRadar had no such trouble on its lawn. If your grass is often wet in the morning or your lawn is uneven, bear that in mind.
Obstacle avoidance: testers disagree
TechRadar found it dodged anything bigger than a tennis ball, including a slim toy spotted off to one side, but it ran over a table-tennis ball twice. Trusted Reviews called its avoidance of chairs, tables and other clutter very good. Tom's Guide had the opposite experience: it marked a small filled-in dog hole as an obstacle, then drove over it four times running. TechRadar wouldn't trust it with pet mess, and none of these tests covered that.
Edges only where it can straddle
You can tell it to overhang the edge of the lawn, which works where a flat path runs alongside, according to Trusted Reviews. It can't cut up to raised beds or fences. Path edges were left uncut for Tom's Guide, even though the mower crossed that same path to reach its second lawn, so every edge needed trimming. TechRadar still used a line trimmer now and then. Plan on doing some edges by hand.
Daylight only, but quiet
Because it relies on cameras, it can't mow after dark, as TechRadar and Trusted Reviews both point out. On the plus side, TechRadar found it near-silent, Tom's Guide quotes 56dB, and Trusted Reviews put it under 60dB. Tom's Guide also found it quick, cutting an 83m² lawn in about 70 minutes, and all three liked the quality of the cut.
Covers the E15. The E18 is the same mower with a bigger battery and has its own page.
Our take
Should you buy the E15 Robot Lawn Mower?
Best for: Small, flat lawns with clear borders. Skip it if: Your lawn is steep, soft or full of bumps.
buy it if you have a flat, tidy lawn under 800m² and want the least fiddly setup going. If your lawn is bumpy, damp or sloping, look at the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000, and for a smaller lawn the eufy C15 does the same job for less.
The E15 was eufy's first robot mower, and it works a lot like one of the brand's robot vacuums. There's no wire and no aerial. It drives round the garden on its own, uses two cameras to tell grass from flowerbeds and builds the map itself. It can't mow in the dark, and it runs on two rear wheels with a small front castor.
TechRadar and Trusted Reviews found it the easiest mower they had set up, mapping itself in about a quarter of an hour, though the map took in a parking space for Trusted Reviews and left out real grass for Tom's Guide. All three liked the cut, and TechRadar got perfectly straight lines. Grip is where the tests part. TechRadar ran it for weeks on a flat, well-kept lawn without a slip. Trusted Reviews saw its bumper dig in on slight undulations, leaving the rear wheels spinning, and it fell off a steep border several times. Tom's Guide found its hard wheels slipped on damp grass on a flat lawn, kept having to rescue it and had every edge left to trim. It can overhang a flat path, per Trusted Reviews, but not raised beds or fences.

The questions people ask about this one
Does it need a boundary wire?
No wire and no satellite aerial. It maps the lawn with its cameras, per the specifications, and TechRadar had it ready in about 15 minutes. You do need Wi-Fi reaching the mower for setup (or a phone hotspot), and 4G is an optional extra.
Will it cope with my slope?
Gentle ones. eufy rates it for 40%, about 18°, per the specifications. Trusted Reviews found it struggled with bumps and slid off a steep border, and Tom's Guide had it slipping on damp grass even on a flat lawn. For real slopes, choose an all-wheel-drive mower.
Can it mow at night?
No. It needs daylight to see where it's going, so Trusted Reviews says scheduling is limited to daylight hours. TechRadar lists it as one of its few niggles and suggests the Mammotion LUBA mini if you want to mow after dark.
How close does it cut to the edge?
Only as close as it can drive. It can overhang a flat path, per Trusted Reviews, but not raised beds or fences. Tom's Guide found even its path edges left uncut, so budget for some trimming.
Is there a subscription for 4G or anti-theft?
4G is optional and paid yearly, according to Trusted Reviews; Wi-Fi alone is fine if it reaches the lawn. For theft, TechRadar says it's locked to your account, sounds an alarm and locks itself if taken outside its boundary, and offers GPS tracking over the optional 4G.
What happens when it rains?
It heads home. Both TechRadar and Tom's Guide saw the rain sensor send it back to its dock, and it's rated IPX6, per the specifications. TechRadar notes it's one of the few mowers that comes with a roof over the dock as standard.
Alternatives
Other robot lawn mowers to compare.

C15 Robot Lawn Mower
Why consider it: The smaller, cheaper sibling, which Expert Reviews found unusually easy to get going.
The compromise: It's rated for only 500m², and rough patches and tall growth tended to interrupt it.

E18 Robot Lawn Mower
Why consider it: The same design with a bigger battery, rated for lawns up to 1,200m².
The compromise: One owner found mapping fiddly on a lawn that opens onto neighbouring gardens.

Automower 405VE NERA
Why consider it: Over three months of testing it needed remarkably little help and left tidy edges.
The compromise: Satellite reception suffered under thicker foliage, and steep ground was a weak point.

YUKA mini 2 1000
Why consider it: Laser guidance that testers found steady under trees and through narrow gaps.
The compromise: It's also rated for moderate slopes only, and cutting height is set by hand on the mower.
