Feedback

What reviewers found

Three reviews, mixing controlled cleaning tests with use at home. All three praised the mopping and the dock. Vacuuming split them: Trusted Reviews found strong carpet pickup, while Tom's Guide saw hair scattered and debris flicked behind the robot. L&B Tech Reviews describes a camera, but Dreame’s own specification lists laser-based obstacle sensing and no camera, so go by the spec.

Trusted Reviews, hands-on, Nov 2024 · Tom's Guide, hands-on, Sept 2025 · L&B Tech Reviews, hands-on, Daily use in a family flat, Jul 2025

  • Hard floors

    Mixed results

Trusted Reviews found hard floors cleaned well. Tom's Guide was less impressed on hardwood, where some cereal was left behind and its wheels crushed Cheerios into the floor.

  • Carpet and rugs

    Mixed results

Trusted Reviews found carpet pickup excellent, and Tom's Guide measured decent carpet results. But Tom's Guide also saw it flick debris behind it, and its small bin was nearly full after each test.

  • Pet hair

    Reviewers found problems

Hair is its weak spot. Trusted Reviews found its whole human-hair test wrapped round the rubber roller, and Tom's Guide saw its airflow blow cat hair around while it skirted larger clumps.

  • Mopping

    Reviewers rate it highly

Trusted Reviews lifted dried coffee and red wine easily, though ketchup needed extra passes, Tom's Guide found ketchup easy work, and L&B Tech Reviews saw it loosen dried food under a dining table. Tom's Guide spotted a few patches it hadn't covered.

  • Navigation and obstacles

    Mixed results

L&B Tech Reviews found room ordering easy, but Tom's Guide saw puzzling routes, an abandoned edge run and bumps into walls. There's no camera, and Trusted Reviews saw it avoid packaging but drive straight into fake pet mess.

  • Dock and upkeep

    Reviewers rate it highly

Tom's Guide liked that it washes and dries the mops and empties the bin for up to two months, and Trusted Reviews found it close to Dreame's pricier docks. Both note the washboard needs brushing by hand, and there's no hot-water wash.

  • App and software

    Reviewers rate it highly

Trusted Reviews found mapping quick and room, no-go and no-mop controls simple, and Tom's Guide found an impressive level of customisation, despite some awkward wording. Tom's Guide advises skipping the CleanGenius auto mode.

  • Noise

    Mixed results

Trusted Reviews measured 64.4dB and heard a low, steady hum, but L&B Tech Reviews found maximum suction and bin emptying noticeably loud, with mop drying buzzing for two to three hours.

  • Reliability and support

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use ran it long term or judged Dreame's support.

  • Value

    Reviewers rate it highly

All three testers liked the value. Trusted Reviews calls it brilliantly priced for features borrowed from the L40 Ultra, and Tom's Guide found a fair bit for the money in a robot that washes, dries and empties itself.

Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works

Good on crumbs, patchy on hair

Tom's Guide measured 80% of the cereal and 95% of the litter picked up on hardwood and 80 to 90% on carpet, but its airflow blew cat hair around and it skirted larger clumps. Trusted Reviews found carpet pickup excellent and hard floors good, yet its entire human-hair test ended up wrapped round the rubber roller. L&B Tech Reviews was happy with the daily result in a flat with two young children. It's better at daily upkeep than at coping with a very hairy household.

Strong mopping, gaps in coverage

Dried coffee and red wine came off easily for Trusted Reviews, but ketchup was still visible after two passes and mud left an outline. Tom's Guide found ketchup easy work, yet spotted patches in the kitchen and hallway that the robot hadn't covered. L&B Tech Reviews found it loosened dried-on food under a family dining table. After the first few scheduled runs, check the kitchen edges and corners.

Odd routes, and skip the AI mode

Tom's Guide found its route planning puzzling: rooms cleaned in an odd order, and an edge run along a skirting board abandoned halfway. The CleanGenius setting made it worse, mistaking wood grain for stains and circling back to mop, so the reviewer advises custom settings instead. L&B Tech Reviews found setup and room ordering easy, and a typical daily clean of its 130-square-metre flat took about 115 minutes.

Drove straight into fake pet mess

Dreame's UK spec lists single-laser obstacle avoidance and no video features, per Dreame, and Trusted Reviews found no camera. In its test the robot steered round loose packaging but drove straight into fake pet mess. L&B Tech Reviews describes an RGB camera, which doesn't match Dreame's own listing. Either way, don't leave it running unsupervised where a pet might have had an accident.

Noise, bin size and the dock

Trusted Reviews measured 64.4dB and described a low, steady hum. L&B Tech Reviews found maximum suction and emptying noticeably loud, and mop drying a buzz lasting two to three hours. The 300ml onboard bin was nearly full after each Tom's Guide test, so expect extra trips to the dock on messy days, and the dock's washboard needs brushing by hand. The dock is about 60cm tall, so measure the spot.

This covers the L10s Ultra Gen 2 only, not the original L10s Ultra or the Gen 3.

Our take

Should you buy the L10s Ultra Gen 2?

Best for: Homes with mostly hard floors that are kept clear of clutter. Skip it if: Long hair regularly tangles your brushes, or thick rugs could touch the raised mop pads.

For a tidy home with mostly hard floors, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 offers automatic emptying, mop washing and drying. Long-hair tangling and missed small hazards are the main compromises. Its pads stay attached over carpet; the L40 Ultra offers a separate option to leave its pads in the dock.

The L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a mid-range Dreame whose dock empties the bin, washes the two spinning mops with cold water and detergent, dries them with hot air and refills the robot. One mop swings out to reach the edges. To keep the cost down there's no camera, only a single laser sensor at the front, and the roller is plain rubber. Dreame now sells a Gen 3 alongside it, so check which you're buying.

Trusted Reviews found carpet pickup excellent and hard floors good, but Tom's Guide saw cereal left on hardwood, wheels crushing Cheerios into the floor and cat hair blown around. Hair is its weak spot: all the human hair in Trusted Reviews' test wrapped round the roller. Mopping fared better, with Trusted Reviews lifting dried coffee and red wine easily and L&B Tech Reviews seeing dried food loosened under a dining table, though Tom's Guide spotted patches it hadn't covered. Trusted Reviews watched it drive straight into fake pet mess. Tom's Guide found its routes puzzling and advises skipping the CleanGenius mode, and L&B Tech Reviews found the mop drying buzzes for two to three hours.

The questions people ask about this one

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?

Not pet mess. Trusted Reviews saw it drive straight into fake pet mess, though it avoided loose packaging. Dreame's UK spec lists a single laser sensor and no camera, per the specifications. Pick up cables, socks and anything a pet leaves before it runs.

Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?

No. Trusted Reviews confirms the dock can't take the pads off; instead the robot lifts them by a claimed 10.5mm. That can still leave damp pads touching thicker pile, so set up carpet avoidance where you need it. If leaving the pads behind matters to you, look at a model that does it, such as the L40 Ultra.

Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?

Low ones only. Tom's Guide saw it struggle with a door threshold of around 1.4cm before getting over it. L&B Tech Reviews had few doorsteps, and doormats and stair treads caused no trouble. Dreame's UK page doesn't give a climbing height, so if your doorway thresholds are high, plan for a ramp.

How big is the dock, and is it loud?

The dock is 450 × 350 × 590.5mm, per the specifications, so pick a spot where you can still lift out the tanks. L&B Tech Reviews found emptying and top suction loud, and mop drying a buzz lasting two to three hours, so keep it out of a room you sit in all day.

How often do I have to empty or refill anything?

Dreame’s own dust-bag estimates range from 60 to 75 days, and how long yours lasts depends on dirt, hair and floor area. The water tanks need more regular attention: top up the clean water, tip out the dirty water and brush the washboard by hand. For detergent and routine care, follow the manual.

Does it cope with long hair?

Not well. Trusted Reviews found all of its human-hair test wrapped round the standard rubber roller, and Tom's Guide saw cat hair blown around rather than picked up. If long hair is a daily problem, expect to cut the roller free regularly.

L10s Ultra Gen 3

£40 more than the L10s Ultra Gen 2

Why consider it: Testers liked its pickup and controls, with the same kind of full dock.

The compromise: They disagree on spotting small obstacles, and stubborn marks take repeat passes.

Why consider it: TechRadar was delighted with its cleaning and extending mop, and it leaves its mops at the dock for carpet.

The compromise: RTINGS found much weaker pickup, and the brush in the box varies between offers.

Why consider it: Tom's Guide found it excellent on hard floors, quiet and quick to map.

Dreame L40 Ultra vs L10s Ultra Gen 2

Our verdict: According to Trusted Reviews, the L40 Ultra adds what this model lacks: a camera for avoiding clutter, hot-water mop washing and mops that stay in the dock for carpet. Reviews of both still question hair and carpet pickup, so only pay more if clutter or thick rugs are your problem.
