L60 Ultra PE
3 independent reviewsRead the findings →The value pick of Dreame's L60 range, with a dock that handles almost all the upkeep. It's excellent on carpets and pet hair, and its brushes resist tangles. It's tall, though, copes only with low thresholds, and mops gently.

What reviewers found
Three tests so far. Vacuum Wars measured it in its studio, Root-Nation used it in a split-level home and Just A Dad Approved ran it for 90 days. All three like the vacuuming, the tangle-resistant brushes and the dock. Vacuum Wars found stain removal below average, while Root-Nation was happy with the mopping. Only Vacuum Wars measured doorway thresholds: it got over one below Dreame's single-step limit and failed one above it. Just A Dad Approved had the bin clog once with heavy hair.

Hard floors
Reviewers rate it highlyVacuum Wars found it handled debris of all sizes on hard floors with only slight scattering of fine dust, and Just A Dad Approved found it delivers on hardwood and tile over 90 days.
Carpet and rugs
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars measured carpet cleaning, recording one of the best medium-pile results from nearly 200 robots it has tested. No other review we use tested carpet in detail.
Pet hair
Reviewers rate it highlyVacuum Wars saw it collect all the flattened pet hair on carpet with none wrapped round the brushes, and Root-Nation and Just A Dad Approved also praise the anti-tangle brushes. Heavy loads can clog the bin, per Just A Dad Approved.
Mopping
Mixed resultsGentle rather than thorough: Vacuum Wars found it puts down so little water that dried stains came up worse than average, while Root-Nation liked the firm pad pressure and reach to the skirting. Dried marks may need a hand, and follow your floor maker's cleaning instructions for wood.
Navigation and obstacles
Mixed resultsAvoidance is good: Vacuum Wars saw it dodge most test objects and Root-Nation saw it steer round cables, shoes and toys. Thresholds are the limit, as Vacuum Wars saw it fail at a 25mm step and Just A Dad Approved advises against taller transitions.
Dock and upkeep
Mixed resultsRoot-Nation liked that the dock checks the wash water and sends the robot back to re-mop dirty rooms, and Just A Dad Approved rates the hot-water wash highly. But Just A Dad Approved found the auto-empty suction weak, with one bin clog in 90 days.
App and software
Not enough evidenceOnly Root-Nation judged the app, finding room controls, multi-floor maps and carpet detection all work without a subscription.
Noise
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use measured or judged its noise.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use judged Dreame's support. Over 90 days, Just A Dad Approved had the robot's bin clog once with heavy hair.
Value
Not enough evidenceOnly Just A Dad Approved weighed value, finding that at full price the cheaper L60 Ultra FE or the Pro Ultra makes more sense, so it's best bought on offer.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Superb on carpet and pet hair
Vacuum Wars measured 94% of sand removed from medium-pile carpet, its second-highest result from nearly 200 robots, plus 100% of flattened pet hair and no hair wrapped round the brushes. That beat the pricier L60 Pro Ultra on both counts. Oddly, its bench suction and airflow figures were low, yet that didn't show up in the cleaning. Root-Nation also praised the anti-tangle brushes. If carpet and pets are your main battle, this is the headline.
Gentle mopping
Vacuum Wars scored stain removal at 85 against a 108 average, because it puts down very little water: about a quarter of the average, even on the higher setting. Root-Nation liked that the pads press down and reach the skirting, and that the mop lifts to keep rugs dry. Both can be true, and it suits regular light mopping better than shifting dried stains. Check your floor maker's wet-cleaning instructions before using it on wood.
Stick to low doorway thresholds
Dreame rates it for 2.2cm on a single step, per the specifications. Vacuum Wars saw it cross 19mm but fail at 25mm, and advises treating the rating as a firm limit. Root-Nation said it cleared door frames and rug edges without hesitation, but didn't measure them. Just A Dad Approved advises against it for transitions of about 1.5 inches or more. Measure your thresholds: anything much over 2cm points to the Pro Ultra.
Good at dodging clutter
Vacuum Wars recorded 21 of 24 objects avoided against an average of 16, and notes the cheaper FE managed only 2. Root-Nation saw it steer round cables, shoes, pet toys and chair legs. Just A Dad Approved was a little cooler, calling it solid for everyday clutter but a step behind the Pro Ultra. A quick tidy before each run is still sensible.
Watch the auto-empty with heavy hair
Just A Dad Approved had the robot's bin clog once in 90 days with a heavy hair load, and felt the dock's suction was the weak link for multi-pet homes. Vacuum Wars notes the onboard bin is small, so the dock matters. On the plus side, Root-Nation liked that the dock checks the wash water and sends the robot back to re-mop areas when the mops get too dirty, so busy rooms get a second go without you asking.

Our take
Should you buy the L60 Ultra PE?
Best for: Carpeted homes with a pet that sheds. Skip it if: You have tall door thresholds or very low furniture.
The PE is worth considering for carpets and shedding pets if thresholds are low and furniture clearance is sufficient. Its standout carpet result comes from one lab, and heavy hair clogged the bin once in a 90-day home test. Expect weaker dried-stain removal. The Pro Ultra adds climbing hardware and a retractable turret; check the shape of your thresholds and furniture gaps before choosing between them.
The L60 Ultra PE sits third in Dreame's four L60 robots and keeps the parts that save work: a dock that empties the bin, washes the pads in very hot water, dries them and sends the robot back to re-mop if the wash water comes out dirty. A front camera spots clutter, and an arm swings the mop and side brush into corners. It has a fixed laser on top, so it stands over 10cm tall, and it's only rated for low doorway thresholds.
Vacuum Wars measured one of the highest carpet results it has ever recorded, with all the flattened pet hair collected and none wrapped round the brushes, beating the pricier L60 Pro Ultra on both. Root-Nation and Just A Dad Approved also praise the anti-tangle brushes. Its mopping is gentle: Vacuum Wars found it puts down so little water that dried stains came up worse than average, though Root-Nation liked the pad pressure and reach to the skirting. Vacuum Wars saw it cross a low step but fail at a slightly taller one, and Just A Dad Approved warns against taller transitions. Over three months Just A Dad Approved had the bin clog once with heavy hair and felt the dock's emptying suction was weak. Just A Dad Approved also says it only makes sense on offer.
Before you buy
The questions people ask about this one
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
Rugs are fine: the mop lifts to keep them dry, according to Root-Nation. Doorway thresholds are the limit. Vacuum Wars saw it cross 19mm but fail at 25mm, and Dreame's own single-step rating is 2.2cm, per the specifications. Taller or stepped thresholds need the L60 Pro Ultra.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Often not. It's 10.38cm tall with a fixed laser on top, per the specifications, which is taller than most of the L60 family. Measure the gap under your sofa and bed before buying; you need a little more than that to be safe.
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Mostly. Vacuum Wars recorded 21 of 24 objects avoided, and Root-Nation saw it steer round cables, shoes and toys. Neither test shows it's safe around pet accidents, so check the floor first if your pet is prone to them.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
The bin empties into a 3.2L bag that Dreame rates for up to 100 days, per the specifications, but that's the dust bag only, not the water tanks. The clean and dirty tanks hold 4.5L and 4L, so how often you refill and empty them depends on use. Just A Dad Approved had one bin clog with heavy hair, so check the bin too.
Does it need a subscription or an account?
You need the Dreame app, but Root-Nation found room controls, multi-floor maps and carpet detection all work without a premium subscription. Vacuum Wars confirms Matter support and built-in voice control, so you can also run it from other smart-home apps.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

L40s Ultra
Why consider it: Also shone on carpet and long hair in lab tests, and it can drop its mops at the dock for rug days.
The compromise: It's poor at dodging small objects, so you'll tidy more before each run.

Omni E25
Why consider it: A self-rinsing roller mop and camera-based avoidance; Vacuum Wars measured strong pet-hair pickup, though other tests were less favourable.
The compromise: Its wet roller can't stay off deeper carpet, and it's taller still at 11.2cm.

P10 Pro Ultra
Why consider it: A similar full-dock robot that's good on hard floors and runs for ages on a charge.
The compromise: All three tests found it weak on pet hair in carpet, which is where the PE is strongest.
