What reviewers found

The two lab reviews agree far more on hard floors than on carpet. RTINGS reported good carpet and pet-hair pickup, while Vacuum Wars measured below-average carpet cleaning alongside strong mopping. So carpet has been tested; the results just conflict. Neither lab has your rugs, so compare how they tested and buy from a retailer with a decent returns policy.

RTINGS, lab test · Vacuum Wars, lab test, Several weeks, Jul 2025

  • Hard floors

    Not enough evidence

Only RTINGS reported hard-floor pickup, finding it lifted nearly all debris in one pass without flinging it around and cleaned edges and corners thoroughly. Vacuum Wars saw its dirt detection spend extra time on messy patches but didn't publish a pickup figure.

  • Carpet and rugs

    Mixed results

The two labs clash. Vacuum Wars measured well-below-average removal of embedded sand, far behind the cheaper P10, while RTINGS found it gets most everyday debris from carpet, if missing some along edges and corners.

  • Pet hair

    Mixed results

Hair barely wraps the brush: Vacuum Wars found none after its long-hair test, and RTINGS only a little. Pickup is where they split, with RTINGS finding it handles pet hair on carpet well and Vacuum Wars measuring poor flattened-hair pickup.

  • Mopping

    Mixed results

Vacuum Wars scored it well above average on dried stains, far ahead of the P10. RTINGS found the mopping useful between deep cleans but not up to tough stains.

  • Navigation and obstacles

    Mixed results

RTINGS found it reliable at avoiding obstacles on hard floors and never stuck on furniture, but on carpet it often bumped into or drove over things, including pet waste. Vacuum Wars rated its avoidance only just above average.

  • Dock and upkeep

    Not enough evidence

Only Vacuum Wars judged the dock, finding it advanced for the price, with a hotter mop wash than the P10 and the option to leave the mops behind for vacuum-only runs.

  • App and software

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use judged the app yet.

  • Noise

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use reported how loud the robot or its dock is.

  • Reliability and support

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged MOVA's support yet.

  • Value

    Not enough evidence

Only Vacuum Wars judged value, finding it cheaper than rivals with similar specs on sale but ranking the less expensive P10 Pro Ultra higher for pure value.

Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works

Excellent on hard floors

RTINGS found it picked up nearly all debris from hard floors in one pass, without flinging or dragging it around, and cleaned corners and edges thoroughly thanks to the extending side brush. Vacuum Wars saw its dirt-detection camera kick in during a coffee-grounds test, spending extra time on the messiest patches. For kitchens, hallways and open-plan rooms with hard floors, this is where it earns its money.

Carpet: the two labs clash

Vacuum Wars measured only 57% of embedded sand removed from carpet, well below average and far behind the cheaper P10's 81%. Its flattened pet-hair pickup was poor too. RTINGS was much kinder, saying it handles pet hair on carpet well and gets most everyday debris, though it leaves some behind and misses edges and corners. The tests differ and nobody has explained the gap. If most of your home is carpet, try it on yours within the return period.

Hair barely wraps the brush

In Vacuum Wars' long-hair test nothing at all wrapped round the brush, which beats the already good P10. RTINGS is a little more cautious: the cutting brush helps, but some hair still wraps and you'll need to clean it now and then. For homes with long-haired people or pets, it's still one of the less fiddly brushes to own.

Better mopping than the P10

Vacuum Wars scored it well above average at lifting dried-on stains, far ahead of the P10, though it left an average amount of water behind where the P10 left less. RTINGS was less convinced, calling the mopping useful between deep cleans but not up to tough stains. The hotter mop wash and the option to leave the mops in the dock, per Vacuum Wars, make it easier to live with if you have rugs.

Avoidance slips on carpet

RTINGS found it reliable at avoiding obstacles on hard floors, but on carpet it often bumped into or drove over things, particularly pet waste. It navigated furniture without getting stuck. Vacuum Wars rated its avoidance as just above average, and slightly behind the P10. If your pet sometimes has accidents, run it while you're home.

Pricier, not always better

Vacuum Wars found the cheaper P10 Pro Ultra had more suction and airflow on its bench and covered far more floor per charge: around 1,375 square feet for the P50 against 2,157 for the P10. It ranked the P50 18th in its top 20, with the P10 ninth. Pay for the P50 for its mopping, tangle-free brush and mop drop-off, not for deeper cleaning.

Our take

Should you buy the P50 Pro Ultra?

Best for: Homes with hard floors where long hair tangles the brush. Skip it if: Most of your home has thick carpet.

Consider the P50 for mainly hard floors, routine mopping and reduced brush tangling. It can leave its pads in the dock for vacuum-only runs. Dried-stain and carpet results differed between reviewers, so those are weaker reasons to choose it without a closer comparison.

The P50 Pro Ultra sits above the P10 Pro Ultra in MOVA's P series. It adds more claimed suction, a brush with a built-in cutter to stop hair wrapping, and a dock that washes the mop pads at 75°C. It can leave its mops in the dock before vacuuming carpet, and its side brush and one mop extend into corners.

RTINGS collected almost all hard-floor debris in one pass, including edges and corners. On carpet, it was more positive than Vacuum Wars, which removed only 57% of its embedded sand and found the P10 stronger in that test. Vacuum Wars measured strong stain removal, while RTINGS left tougher stains behind. Brush tangling was reduced, but not absent in every test. RTINGS also reported missed obstacles on carpet, including simulated pet waste. The P10 covered more floor per charge in Vacuum Wars’ comparison; check current offers rather than assuming it is still the cheaper model.

The questions people ask about this one

Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?

Yes. Vacuum Wars confirms it can leave its mop pads in the dock for vacuum-only runs, which the P10 can't. MOVA also says it lifts or removes the pads automatically when it detects carpet, per the specifications.

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?

On hard floors, usually. On carpet, RTINGS found it often bumped into or drove over obstacles, particularly pet waste. Vacuum Wars rated its avoidance just above average. Tidy up and supervise early runs if you have pets.

Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?

MOVA claims it crosses thresholds up to 2.2cm. That's the maker's limit, and the shape of the threshold matters as much as the height. Measure your doorways before buying, especially any with high or uneven edges.

Does it fit under low furniture?

It needs about 10.4cm of clearance, per the specifications, so it won't reach under the lowest sofas. RTINGS found it cleaned underneath what it could fit under and moved around furniture without getting stuck.

P50 Pro Ultra or P10 Pro Ultra?

In Vacuum Wars' comparison, the P10 removed more embedded carpet dirt and covered more floor per charge. The P50 mopped better and had no brush tangles in that test. RTINGS still found some hair wrapping on the P50, so don't expect it to be completely tangle-free. The P50 can also leave its mop pads in the dock for vacuum-only cleaning.

What still needs emptying or refilling?

The dock has 4 litres of clean-water capacity, 3.5 litres for dirty water and a dust bag that MOVA says can last up to 75 days. You'll refill clean water, empty dirty water and clean the tray and brushes as needed. How often depends on your home; the 75 days is a best case, not a schedule.

Why consider it: Covers big floors efficiently and did well in one deep-carpet test.

The compromise: A lab found it leaves carpet edges dirty and struggles with embedded pet hair.

Why consider it: At its best on hard floors, with the dock taking care of the mops.

The compromise: It struggles with carpet hair and small objects, so it suits fairly clear floors.

Why consider it: Independent tests make it look good for pet hair, and its roller mop and dock cut routine work.

The compromise: Hard stains, rug edges and occasional support problems are worth a closer look.

P50 Pro Ultra head to head

Head to head

MOVA P10 Pro Ultra vs P50 Pro Ultra

Our verdict: Pick the P10 unless mopping and tangle-free brushing matter most. In Vacuum Wars' side-by-side tests the cheaper P10 pulled more sand from carpet and ran much further per charge, while the P50 scrubbed stains better, never tangled and can leave its mops in the dock.
