What reviewers found

Two UK tests, both scoring it 4.5 out of 5. Trusted Reviews ran set tests for carpet, hard floors, edges, hair and three kinds of stain in its lab. Ideal Home used it for two weeks in a three-bedroom home with a cocker spaniel, plus an obstacle course and debris tests. Both praise the pickup, the carpet shield and the obstacle avoidance, and both miss a mop-only mode. Trusted Reviews found ketchup beat it without help.

Trusted Reviews, hands-on, Aug 2026 · Ideal Home, hands-on, 2 weeks at home, Sept 2026

  • Hard floors

    Reviewers rate it highly

Trusted Reviews found hard-floor pickup spot-on and edges excellent, apart from a thin line of dust. Ideal Home saw rice, sugar and oats gathered, with strays picked up later in the route.

  • Carpet and rugs

    Mixed results

Trusted Reviews found it collected everything on carpet where it passed properly, but left a couple of small patches. Ideal Home found carpets handled with ease, though debris was left along the edge of a wavy rug as it moved back onto hard floor.

  • Pet hair

    Reviewers rate it highly

Ideal Home found it handled a cocker spaniel's hair over two weeks, and neither Ideal Home nor Trusted Reviews found hair wrapped round the brushes after their tests.

  • Mopping

    Reviewers rate it highly

Ideal Home saw orange juice wiped away in one swipe, and Trusted Reviews found coffee and mud cleared and called the mopping brilliant. Dried ketchup needed a spray of cleaner and extra passes, Trusted Reviews found.

  • Navigation and obstacles

    Reviewers rate it highly

Trusted Reviews watched it skirt shoes, cables and fake pet mess in a crowded lab, and on Ideal Home's obstacle course it stopped short of each object and worked out other routes.

  • Dock and upkeep

    Reviewers rate it highly

Both found the dock handles emptying and roller washing well, but neither liked that there's no detergent compartment and none in the box. Ideal Home notes the filter should be washed every two weeks; Trusted Reviews liked the automatic re-mopping of dirty areas.

  • App and software

    Mixed results

Trusted Reviews found the app mature and powerful, and Ideal Home found it easier than before, if still overwhelming at first. Both were puzzled that it offers no mop-only mode.

  • Noise

    Mixed results

Not the quietest. Trusted Reviews measured 69.1dB on the top setting, close to a cordless vacuum, and Ideal Home measured 68dB, at the upper end of robots it has tested, though a quiet mode helps at night.

  • Reliability and support

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged Roborock's support yet.

  • Value

    Reviewers rate it highly

Ideal Home called its price hugely competitive for obstacle handling found on far pricier robots, and Trusted Reviews found high-end features it wouldn't expect at a mid-range price.

Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works

The roller mops well, mostly

Trusted Reviews saw coffee and a muddy stain cleared, but dried ketchup was still very visible after two passes; it needed a spray of kitchen cleaner and a few more passes to shift. Ideal Home had orange juice wiped away in one swipe, and was struck by how dirty the waste water looked after a run. For daily spills it's very good. For old, sticky marks, plan to pre-treat them.

A shield keeps rugs dry

When it detects carpet, the roller lifts and a cover swings round it. Trusted Reviews says that makes it well suited to mixed floors, and Ideal Home watched the shield close each time it crossed a rug. The one niggle for Ideal Home was small pockets of debris left along the edge of a wavy-edged rug as it moved back onto hard floor, which needed a handheld vacuum. The reviewer thinks the rug's shape may be to blame.

Strong pickup, few misses

Trusted Reviews found hard-floor pickup spot-on and edges excellent, apart from a thin line of dust it couldn't quite reach. On carpet it collected everything where it passed properly, leaving a couple of small patches. Ideal Home saw it gather rice, sugar and oats, picking up any strays later in the route, and it handled a spaniel's hair. Neither found hair wrapped on the brushes.

No mop-only mode

Both testers were puzzled that the app offers vacuum only, vacuum and mop together, or vacuum then mop, but no mopping on its own. Ideal Home used that mode on other Roborocks for wet spills, and Trusted Reviews points out the robot is clearly capable of it. There's also no detergent compartment, and Ideal Home notes none comes in the box. If you mostly want quick wet clean-ups, that's a real gap.

Steers round clutter confidently

Trusted Reviews watched it skirt shoes, cables and fake pet mess and still get under the sofa in a crowded lab. On Ideal Home's obstacle course it stopped short of each object, tried other routes and worked out where it couldn't go, and the app showed what it had found. It's noisy on the top setting: 69.1dB for Trusted Reviews and 68dB for Ideal Home.

Our take

Should you buy the Qrevo Edge 2 Flow?

Best for: Homes wanting to mop hard floors while keeping rugs dry. Skip it if: Your rooms are separated by tall door thresholds.

buy it for mixed hard floors and rugs, if you want roller mopping that keeps the carpet dry and a robot that avoids clutter. If raised doorway thresholds are the issue, the Saros 20 climbs better, and for pet hair on hard floors the Eufy Omni E25 is a close rival with an easier app.

The Qrevo Edge 2 Flow is a mid-range Roborock with a wide roller mop in place of spinning pads. Fresh water is sprayed onto the roller as it turns and dirty water is scraped into a tank, and on carpet the roller lifts and a plastic shield swings over it. It's low enough for most sofas and borrows a lot from the Saros 20 flagships. The app has no mop-only mode, and there's no detergent compartment.

Two UK testers both scored it highly. Trusted Reviews found hard-floor pickup spot-on and edges excellent apart from a thin line of dust, and Ideal Home saw rice, sugar and oats gathered and a cocker spaniel's hair handled over two weeks. Neither found hair wrapped on the brushes. Ideal Home had orange juice wiped away in one swipe and Trusted Reviews called the mopping brilliant, but dried ketchup needed a spray of cleaner and extra passes. Both watched it steer round shoes, cables and fake pet mess. Ideal Home found debris left along the edge of a wavy rug. Both were puzzled by the missing mop-only mode and disliked adding detergent by hand. It's not quiet either: Trusted Reviews measured 69.1dB on the top setting, close to a cordless vacuum.

The questions people ask about this one

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?

It did in testing. Trusted Reviews saw it go round shoes, cables and fake pet mess, and Ideal Home's obstacle course didn't catch it out. Fake mess isn't the real thing, so still check the floor if you have a pet that has accidents.

Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?

No, but it doesn't need to. On carpet the roller lifts by up to 15mm and a shield slides over it to block water and dirt, according to the specifications. Both Trusted Reviews and Ideal Home saw it keep rugs dry.

Does it fit under low furniture?

It's 8.98cm tall, per the specifications, because the laser turret can drop into the body. Ideal Home found it fitted under a low TV unit and sofas, and Trusted Reviews saw it get under the sofa in a crowded lab.

Can I mop without vacuuming?

No. Trusted Reviews and Ideal Home both found only vacuum, vacuum and mop, and vacuum-then-mop modes in the app. If you often want a quick wet clean after a spill, that's a real limitation.

How often do I have to empty or refill anything?

The dock has a 4-litre clean tank, a 3-litre dirty tank and a 2.7-litre dust bag, per Trusted Reviews. Roborock claims up to 65 days before the bag is full, per the specifications. Roborock also suggests washing the filter every two weeks, Ideal Home notes.

Does it need a special cleaning fluid?

Roborock recommends only its approved detergents, notes Ideal Home, yet none comes in the box and there's no detergent compartment in the dock, as Trusted Reviews points out. Ideal Home ran it on plain water for the whole test.

Omni E25

Why consider it: One of the best robots tested for pet hair, with a self-rinsing roller mop and a camera.

The compromise: It can't keep its wet roller off deeper carpet.

Roborock Saros 20
Roborock · £899

Saros 20

Why consider it: Very strong on hard floors and unusually good at getting over doorway thresholds and under furniture.

The compromise: Less certain on thick carpet and clutter.

Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller
Dreame · £535

Aqua10 Ultra Roller

Why consider it: Several testers call its roller mopping the best they've seen, with rugs kept dry.

The compromise: It's slow and hungry on battery, and owners report leaking docks.

Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow
Roborock

Qrevo Curv 2 Flow

Why consider it: Roborock's other roller-mop robot, a strong, tangle-free vacuum on hard floors.

The compromise: The roller struggles with dried stains and the tall body won't fit under low sofas.

Head to head

Roborock Saros 20 vs Qrevo Edge 2 Flow

Our verdict: Ideal Home tested both and prefers the Edge 2 Flow: similar cleaning, plus a roller mop that keeps rinsing itself, for much less. Choose the Saros 20 if you have raised doorway thresholds or very low furniture, where its lifting chassis and lower body help.
