DEEBOT T50 MAX PRO OMNI
A more powerful version of ECOVACS's slim T50 Pro Omni, with lab results among the best for carpet, pet hair and stains. The catch is software: one tester's two units kept failing room-by-room cleans.
The short version
The T50 Max Pro Omni sits above the T50 Pro Omni in ECOVACS's mid-range T line. It keeps the low body, the extending mop and side brush, and a dock that empties the bin, washes the pads in warm water, dries them and adds detergent. What changes is the fan, which pulls a lot more air, and a mop that lifts twice as high over rugs.
In the lab that extra power shows up on carpet and pet hair, and the mopping is excellent. The trade-off is reliability. One home tester had two units that kept getting lost on custom room cleans, and another had a faulty first unit. It's around 9.8cm tall, so it's a little taller than the T50 Pro Omni. It's currently $449.99.
In Europe, ECOVACS's own stores list it as out of stock, and it isn't sold in the UK.
Our take: Buy it if carpets and a shedding pet are your main battle and you mostly run whole-home cleans rather than fiddly room schedules. Buy it from a shop with an easy return policy, given the software reports. If you want the slimmest robot for low sofas, the T50 Pro Omni is lower and tested nearly as well. If you want a roller mop for kitchen floors, look at the T80S Omni.

Four tests. Vacuum Wars bought one and measured it against the T50 Pro Omni; BGR used it for a month; TechRadar ran two units in a one-bedroom flat; Digital Reviews Network lived with it at home. Vacuum Wars and BGR rate its carpet, pet-hair and mopping results very highly. The worries are software and reliability: TechRadar saw both units fail custom room cleans, and Digital Reviews Network's first unit was faulty. Vacuum Wars also scored its obstacle avoidance below average.

Superb on carpet and pet hair
Vacuum Wars recorded 100% of flattened pet hair lifted from carpet against an 81% average, and no hair wrapped round the brush in its long-hair test, where the average is 38%. Its deep-carpet result was 77%, just above the 75% average. BGR said no robot it had tested did this well on carpets and rugs, and found no pet hair left after runs. If carpet and shedding are your problem, this is its strongest point.
Mopping scores among the best
Vacuum Wars scored it 171 on dried-on stains against an average of 98, while leaving slightly less water behind than average. BGR tested sticky spills and found them gone with no residue, and credits the arm that pushes a pad out towards walls and corners. The mop also lifts 18mm on carpet, double the T50 Pro Omni's lift, so rugs are less likely to get damp.
Software let one tester down
TechRadar had a strong first run, then the robot repeatedly said it couldn't find the designated area for room cleans. A replacement unit did the same, started in the wrong room and mopped with dry pads. Digital Reviews Network's first unit was faulty and it missed a bedroom on the first map. BGR had the opposite experience: a perfect map on the first pass. Keep the receipt and test custom cleans early.
Clutter needs a quick tidy
Despite the camera, Vacuum Wars scored its obstacle avoidance 14 against an average of 17, slightly behind the T50 Pro Omni's 15. BGR found detection reliable and liked that it didn't give obstacles too wide a berth. The two results can both be true in different homes, but the lab score suggests picking up cables, socks and pet toys before a run.
Long runs, but loud at full power
Vacuum Wars measured battery efficiency well above average and estimates about 1,210 square feet per charge, so most homes will be done in one go. Noise depends on the setting. TechRadar measured 61dB on carpet in one session, then 77dB on a vacuum-then-mop run. BGR also found it gets pretty loud on high suction, so schedule big cleans for when you're out.

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Not reliably enough to skip a tidy. Vacuum Wars scored its avoidance 14 against an average of 17, even with the camera, while BGR found it dependable at home. Pick up cables and socks first, and don't rely on it around pet accidents.
Does it fit under low furniture?
It needs about 10cm. ECOVACS lists the robot at 98mm tall, per the specifications, and Vacuum Wars notes it's slightly taller than the T50 Pro Omni because of the bigger motor. If your sofa gap is under 10cm, the T50 Pro Omni is the lower choice.
How does it handle rugs and door bars?
Rugs are handled well: the mop lifts 18mm when it finds carpet, and a Carpet First setting vacuums rugs before mopping, per the specifications. Vacuum Wars confirmed the 18mm lift. ECOVACS rates it for thresholds up to 22mm; none of the testers measured climbing, so check anything taller.
How big is the dock, and is it loud?
The dock is 350 × 477 × 533mm with its base, per the specifications, and BGR called it a bit large. It holds 4 litres each of clean and dirty water and a 3-litre dust bag. TechRadar found the auto-empty remarkably quick on its first run, then louder and longer on later ones.
Can I set up room-by-room cleaning schedules?
Yes, but this is where problems were reported. TechRadar found two units kept failing custom room and zone cleans, although a full-home auto clean ran. Digital Reviews Network found the app under-cooked in places but very usable in others, and BGR praised its layout. Test your schedules within the return window.

The Max lifted more pet hair from carpet, ran longer per charge and lifts its mop twice as high, while stain removal and deep-carpet results were close. The Pro Omni is slimmer and cheaper, and scored slightly better on obstacles. Pick the Max for carpet and pets, the Pro for low furniture.

Slimmer at 8.1cm, so it gets under lower sofas, and three testers praised its vacuuming.
Mopping with plain water was patchy for one tester, and another had it snag on cables.
Deebot T80S Omni
A self-rinsing roller mop, with carpet and pet-hair results among Vacuum Wars' best.
It's slow to cover the floor and only manages low door bars.
L40s Ultra
Also excellent on carpet and long hair in the lab, and it can leave its mops in the dock on rug days.
It's poor at dodging small objects, so you'll still tidy before each run.
