The short version
The YUKA mini is the entry point to Mammotion's range, sold in sizes for lawns from 500m² to 800m². It's the two-wheel-drive counterpart to the LUBA mini AWD. It finds its way by satellite, at first with a small aerial you put up in the garden and on later units using corrections sent over its built-in mobile connection. Cameras on the front spot obstacles and help map the edges, and a headlight lets it mow at night.
It has since been replaced by the YUKA mini 2, and Mammotion's own stores had sold out of it by September 2026. What you give up against the all-wheel-drive models is grip: on soft, damp or bumpy ground its spiked back wheels can slip and tear the turf. You also set the cutting height with a dial on the mower rather than in the app.
Our take: Buy it if you can find one cheaply and your lawn is small, fairly flat and firm underfoot. Reviewers found it tidy, quiet and easy to live with. If your lawn is soft, often wet or has proper slopes, an all-wheel-drive mower such as the Navimow i2 AWD will cope better. For shady gardens, the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000 steers by laser instead.

Three home tests. Trusted Reviews and EasyLawnMowing tried the 800, and Maison et Domotique the 700 on a U-shaped 800m² garden. All three got a clean cut in straight lines, and all praise the obstacle spotting. Grip is the weak point: Trusted Reviews found it tore soft turf, and Maison et Domotique had it stall twice on sodden ground, though it climbed a 30% slope in the dry. A tidy cut in straight lines
Trusted Reviews got a neat zigzag with no tufts left behind, and it never got lost in the bushes. Maison et Domotique found the cut clean and even, with no random overlapping, and at 40mm the lawn looked like a football pitch. In its quick mode it finished 800m² in under three hours, recharging included. EasyLawnMowing set it low, at 25mm, and it still cut well in dead-straight lines before a lap of the edge.
Grip is the weak spot
This is the trade-off for two-wheel drive. Trusted Reviews tested it in a Devon garden with steep slopes and found it struggled on softer lawn, with its spiky tyres tearing the grass, especially when climbing onto borders. Maison et Domotique had it climb a 30% slope and cope with gentle bumps, but after a stormy morning it stalled twice on a spongy patch and went back to its dock. If your lawn stays soft, look at an all-wheel-drive model.
Good at spotting obstacles
It has no bumper and relies on its cameras. Maison et Domotique saw it stop for stray toys, go round flower pots, thread between tree trunks and garden furniture, and never get caught out by the cat or footballs. Very low, flat things like stepping stones were its blind spot: it sometimes climbed onto them before backing off. Trusted Reviews found it simply drove round obstacles without breaking its mowing pattern. A protruding tree root did stop it once or twice.
Setup is quick, mapping varies
EasyLawnMowing had it assembled in 10 to 15 minutes, and Maison et Domotique went from box to first cut in about an hour. The dock needs a flat spot with two metres clear to each side and five in front, per Maison et Domotique. Where there's an aerial, it needs open sky, which Trusted Reviews notes is tricky under trees. Automatic mapping suited simple lawn shapes for Trusted Reviews, but it steered round more complex ones by hand.
Edges, height and noise
Expect to strim the edges: Maison et Domotique measured a 10 to 12cm strip it couldn't reach. Cutting height is set with a dial on the mower, from 20 to 60mm, so Trusted Reviews points out you can't give zones different heights automatically. It's quiet, though. Maison et Domotique measured 58dB a metre away and found it easy to forget during the day.

Will it cope with my slope?
Mammotion rates it for 50% (27°), per the specifications. Maison et Domotique had it climb a 30% slope without fuss in the dry. On soft or wet ground it's less sure: Trusted Reviews saw its tyres tear the grass and Maison et Domotique had it stall on a sodden patch.
Can it handle two lawns or a narrow passage?
Yes. Maison et Domotique split a U-shaped garden with a narrow corridor into three zones with their own schedules. EasyLawnMowing watched it drive down a garden path and up a small ramp to mow the front lawn, then return to its dock.
How close does it cut to the edge?
Not all the way. Maison et Domotique measured a 10 to 12cm strip left along the edges that needed a strimmer. EasyLawnMowing saw it finish each zone with a lap of the edge, which tidies the border but doesn't remove the strip.
What happens when it rains?
It's rated IPX6, and a rain sensor sends it back to its dock, according to Trusted Reviews. Maison et Domotique saw it stop mowing one rainy morning and pick up again once the rain eased.
How noisy is it for neighbours?
Quiet. Maison et Domotique measured 58dB at one metre and found it easy to forget during the day. It has a headlight for night mowing, per EasyLawnMowing, but Maison et Domotique advises mowing by day to spare hedgehogs and other night-time wildlife.
