Deebot T80S Omni
A mid-range Ecovacs with a self-rinsing roller mop that tested very well on carpet, pet hair and stains. It's slow to cover the floor, though, and it only gets over low door bars.
The short version
The T80S Omni is the 2026 refresh of the T80 Omni, sitting below the T90 Pro Omni in Ecovacs's T series. It mops with a roller that's rinsed as it goes and slides out sideways to reach skirting boards, and the dock washes it in hot water, dries it and empties the robot into a bag. Ecovacs claims a big jump in suction over the T80.
The trade-offs are speed and climbing. In one lab test it covered the floor more slowly than average, and Ecovacs only claims 2cm door bars, which one home tester found it couldn't beat at 3cm. At $999 it brings most of the flagship features down a price bracket, but it isn't as clever at avoiding things as the pricier models.

Our take: Buy it if you want a roller mop, a self-washing dock and strong pet-hair pickup without paying flagship money, and your home has flat thresholds. If you have raised door bars or a lot of clutter on the floor, the T90 Pro Omni avoided more objects in the same lab test. If you've spotted the older T80 Omni going cheap, it's worth comparing, but one test saw it stop unexpectedly.

One lab test and two home tests. Vacuum Wars bought a unit and measured it; CyberShack lived with it for about two weeks; Home Beautiful ran it over an Easter weekend in a busy family home. All three liked the cleaning, and Vacuum Wars' carpet and pet-hair numbers are among the best it records. They disagree on obstacle avoidance: Vacuum Wars and Home Beautiful were impressed, while CyberShack's robot drove into a water bowl.

Strong on carpet and pet hair
Vacuum Wars measured 91% sand removal from carpet against a 78% average, 100% pet-hair pickup and no tangling with 7-inch hair. CyberShack found vacuuming excellent, with few missed items, and Home Beautiful saw it clear chocolate, grass and crumbs after a family Easter. For a home with a shedding pet, those results are the main reason to consider it.
A mop that reaches the edges
Vacuum Wars scored its mopping well above average and found it left very little water behind, though the pricier T90 Pro Omni did better on dried stains. CyberShack saw minimal streaking and liked how the roller slides out to get close to walls. Home Beautiful found it kept carpets dry while scrubbing hard floors, because the roller lifts automatically.
Testers split on avoidance
Vacuum Wars recorded 21 of 24 obstacles avoided, well above average, and Home Beautiful called its avoidance exceptional, apart from getting stuck once under furniture. CyberShack had a different experience: it was confused by floor-length mirrors and drove straight into a water bowl. Nobody has explained the gap, so keep pet bowls and cables out of its way until you've watched a few runs.
Slow, and poor at door bars
Vacuum Wars measured below-average cleaning speed and slightly below-average coverage per charge, and it climbed 19mm against Ecovacs's 20mm claim. CyberShack found it couldn't reliably get over 3cm bathroom thresholds, even after several attempts. In a home with raised door bars, expect to carry it between rooms. In a big, open-plan space, the slower pace mostly means longer runs.
Low-effort dock, some mess
CyberShack found the dock emptied, washed and dried the roller reliably, with a fairly quiet drying cycle but loud emptying and the occasional dust spill. Home Beautiful liked the hot-water washing and hot-air drying, but found the app less intuitive than it could be and needed help getting it connected. Expect a fiddly first setup, then little day-to-day upkeep.

How does it handle rugs and door bars?
Rugs are fine: Home Beautiful found the roller lifts to keep carpets dry. Door bars are a weak spot. Ecovacs claims 2cm, per the specifications, Vacuum Wars measured 19mm, and CyberShack saw it fail at 3cm bathroom thresholds.
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Usually, not always. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid 21 of 24 test objects, but CyberShack watched it drive straight into a water bowl. Pick up cables and move pet bowls before a run, at least until you've seen how it behaves in your home.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
The dock empties the robot into a 3L bag that Ecovacs says lasts up to 90 days, and washes the roller in 75°C water, per the specifications. You still refill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty one. CyberShack got app prompts when the bag needed changing.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Only if the gap is about 10cm or more. It's 9.9cm tall, per the specifications. Home Beautiful found it learned to get under a TV unit on later runs, though it got stuck once. Measure under your sofa and bed before buying.
T80S or T90 Pro Omni?
Vacuum Wars tested both. The T90 Pro Omni scored higher on dried stains, avoided more obstacles, cleaned faster and covered more floor per charge. The T80S matched it on pet hair and tangling, and beat it on carpet sand. If you mainly vacuum, the T80S is the better value.
