Deebot T80S Omni
3 independent reviewsRead the findings →A mid-range Ecovacs with a self-rinsing roller mop, refreshing the T80 Omni. It's very good on carpet, pet hair and stains. It's slow to cover the floor, though, and only manages low door thresholds.

What reviewers found
One lab test and two home tests. Vacuum Wars bought a unit and measured it, CyberShack lived with it for about two weeks, and Home Beautiful ran it over an Easter weekend in a busy family home. All three liked the cleaning, and Vacuum Wars' carpet and pet-hair numbers are among the best it records. Obstacle avoidance is where they part: Vacuum Wars and Home Beautiful were impressed, but CyberShack's robot drove into a water bowl.
Vacuum Wars, lab test, Aug 2026 · CyberShack, hands-on, About 2 weeks, Apr 2026 · Home Beautiful, hands-on, An Easter weekend, Apr 2026
Hard floors
Reviewers rate it highlyCyberShack found vacuuming excellent, with the side brush steering debris in and few missed items. Home Beautiful saw it clear chocolate, grass and crumbs after a busy family weekend.
Carpet and rugs
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars measured carpet cleaning specifically, and it pulled far more sand from carpet than the average robot it tests.
Pet hair
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars tested pet hair, finding it lifted all the flattened hair from carpet with no long hair wrapped round the brush.
Mopping
Reviewers rate it highlyVacuum Wars rated its mopping well above average with little water left behind, and CyberShack saw minimal streaking and liked the roller sliding out to walls. Home Beautiful found the lifting roller kept carpets dry.
Navigation and obstacles
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars found its obstacle avoidance well above average and Home Beautiful called it exceptional, bar getting stuck once under furniture. CyberShack saw it confused by floor-length mirrors and drive into a water bowl, and it couldn't climb 3cm thresholds.
Dock and upkeep
Reviewers rate it highlyCyberShack found the dock emptied, washed and dried the roller reliably, with only the occasional dust spill. Home Beautiful liked the hot-water washing and hot-air drying.
App and software
Mixed resultsCyberShack found setup easy and the app's cleaning settings helpful. Home Beautiful found it less intuitive than it could be and needed help getting it connected.
Noise
Not enough evidenceOnly CyberShack judged noise, finding the dock loud while emptying and refilling but the drying cycle fairly quiet.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged Ecovacs's support, and the home tests lasted a few weeks at most.
Value
Not enough evidenceOnly CyberShack judged value, finding it better value than the T90 Pro Omni unless your regular cleaning needs to be especially thorough.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Strong on carpet and pet hair
Vacuum Wars measured 91% sand removal from carpet against a 78% average, 100% pet-hair pickup and no tangling with 7-inch hair. CyberShack found vacuuming excellent, with few missed items, and Home Beautiful saw it clear chocolate, grass and crumbs after a family Easter. For a home with a shedding pet, those results are the main reason to consider it.
A mop that reaches the edges
Vacuum Wars scored its mopping well above average and found it left very little water behind, though the pricier T90 Pro Omni did better on dried stains. CyberShack saw minimal streaking and liked how the roller slides out to get close to walls. Home Beautiful found it kept carpets dry while scrubbing hard floors, because the roller lifts automatically.
Testers split on avoidance
Vacuum Wars recorded 21 of 24 obstacles avoided, well above average, and Home Beautiful called its avoidance exceptional, apart from getting stuck once under furniture. CyberShack had a different experience: floor-length mirrors confused it and it drove straight into a water bowl. None of the reviews explains the gap, so keep pet bowls and cables out of its way until you've watched a few runs.
Slow, and poor at doorway thresholds
Vacuum Wars measured below-average cleaning speed and slightly below-average coverage per charge, and it climbed 19mm against Ecovacs's 20mm claim. CyberShack found it couldn't reliably get over 3cm bathroom thresholds, even after several attempts. In a home with raised doorway thresholds, expect to carry it between rooms. In a big, open-plan space, the slower pace mostly means longer runs.
Low-effort dock, some mess
CyberShack found the dock emptied, washed and dried the roller reliably, with a fairly quiet drying cycle but loud emptying and the occasional dust spill. Home Beautiful liked the hot-water washing and hot-air drying, but found the app less intuitive than it could be and needed help getting it connected. Expect a fiddly first setup, then little day-to-day upkeep.

Our take
Should you buy the Deebot T80S Omni?
Best for: Homes with mostly hard floors and a pet that sheds. Skip it if: Your floors are cluttered or separated by raised thresholds.
buy it if you want a roller mop and strong pet-hair pickup for less than flagship money and your home has flat thresholds. For raised doorway thresholds or a cluttered floor, the T90 Pro Omni avoided more objects in the same lab test.
The T80S Omni is the 2026 refresh of the T80 Omni, sitting below the T90 Pro Omni in Ecovacs's T series. It mops with a roller that's rinsed as it goes and slides out sideways to reach skirting boards, and the dock washes the roller in hot water, dries it and empties the robot into a bag. Ecovacs claims a big jump in suction over the T80.
Vacuum Wars measured 91 per cent of sand removed from carpet, all the flattened pet hair lifted and no long hair round the brush, which is among the best it records. CyberShack found vacuuming excellent, and Home Beautiful saw chocolate, grass and crumbs cleared after a busy family weekend. All three rate the mopping well, and CyberShack liked the roller sliding out to walls. Avoidance splits them. Vacuum Wars and Home Beautiful were impressed, but CyberShack saw it confused by floor-length mirrors and drive into a water bowl. Vacuum Wars measured below-average cleaning speed, and CyberShack found it couldn't reliably get over its bathroom thresholds even after several attempts. Home Beautiful needed help getting the app connected.
Before you buy
The questions people ask about this one
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
Rugs are fine: Home Beautiful found the roller lifts to keep carpets dry. Doorway thresholds are a weak spot. Ecovacs claims 2cm, per the specifications, Vacuum Wars measured 19mm, and CyberShack saw it fail at 3cm bathroom thresholds.
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Usually, not always. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid 21 of 24 test objects, but CyberShack watched it drive straight into a water bowl. Pick up cables and move pet bowls before a run, at least until you've seen how it behaves in your home.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
The dock empties the robot into a 3L bag that Ecovacs says lasts up to 90 days, and washes the roller in 75°C water, per the specifications. You still refill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty one. CyberShack got app prompts when the bag needed changing.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Only if the gap is about 10cm or more. It's 9.9cm tall, per the specifications. Home Beautiful found it learned to get under a TV unit on later runs, though it got stuck once. Measure under your sofa and bed before buying.
T80S or T90 Pro Omni?
Vacuum Wars tested both. The T90 Pro Omni scored higher on dried stains, avoided more obstacles, cleaned faster and covered more floor per charge. The T80S matched it on pet hair and tangling, and beat it on carpet sand. If you mainly vacuum, the T80S is the better value.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni
Why consider it: Vacuum Wars measured very strong pickup, hair handling and dried-stain removal.
The compromise: TechRadar's home test was sharply negative, with repeated mapping and hair left behind.

DEEBOT T80 OMNI
Why consider it: The same roller-mop idea, with strong dried-stain results and little water left behind.
The compromise: Vacuum Wars' unit stopped unexpectedly around tables and needed no-go zones to finish.

DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI
Why consider it: RTINGS found very effective debris pickup and exceptional dried-stain removal.
The compromise: Tests disagree on its mopping, and carpet hair needed deeper, slower modes.

ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni vs Deebot T80S Omni
Our verdict: In Vacuum Wars' tests the T90 Pro Omni mopped dried stains better, avoided more objects and cleaned faster. The T80S matched it on pet hair and did better on carpet sand. Only pay more for the T90 if mopping and clutter matter most to you.
