What reviewers found

Three independent tests, all from Europe. Frandroid scored it 8 out of 10, connect rated it very good at 438 of 500 points, and Techtest gave it 93 out of 100. All three praise the cleaning for the money, especially the mopping and the pad that swings out along skirting boards. On navigation, connect and Techtest found it methodical, while Frandroid saw erratic routes. Everyone found the dock noisy. We left out Nextpit's review because it came from a commercial partnership with ECOVACS.

  • Hard floors

    Reviewers rate it highly

Frandroid threw sand, mud, leaves and crumbs at it and it cleared all visible dirt, rarely needing a second pass. Techtest found dust and hair usually cleared completely from hard floors, and connect rated the suction very good.

  • Carpet and rugs

    Not enough evidence

Techtest found above-average pet-hair pickup on carpet, with only the odd strand left. connect praised the suction and described the carpet boost and pad lifting, but didn't report a separate carpet result, so it's a good sign, but from limited testing.

  • Pet hair

    Reviewers rate it highly

Frandroid saw pet hair cleared along with the rest of its test mess, and Techtest found little left on carpet. connect found far less hair wound round the brush than usual.

  • Mopping

    Reviewers rate it highly

Techtest called the mopping outstanding for footprints and splashes, and connect found it lifted lightly dried stains, with the extending pad reaching round chair legs. connect saw results get patchier as the pads dried between washes.

  • Navigation and obstacles

    Mixed results

connect and Techtest found it methodical, cleaning in tidy lanes. Frandroid saw odd routes, missed patches and bumps into half-closed doors. With no camera, Frandroid and Techtest both found cables, socks and cloths can trip it up.

  • Dock and upkeep

    Reviewers rate it highly

Frandroid liked the removable washing tray, and connect liked the tank sizes. You still refill clean water, empty dirty water and change dust bags, each on its own schedule depending on how much you clean, so a big bag doesn't mean you can forget the water for weeks.

  • App and software

    Mixed results

Techtest found the app well made, with live maps, room splitting and virtual walls. Frandroid found it behind rivals, with a dated map that makes rooms hard to tell apart and settings you have to adjust by hand.

  • Noise

    Mixed results

All three found the dock loud while washing pads, and connect suggests keeping it out of living spaces. On the robot they split: Techtest found it quieter than average, Frandroid louder, with noisy wheels.

  • Reliability and support

    Not enough evidence

None of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged ECOVACS's support. Frandroid found the plastics less durable than on premium rivals.

  • Value

    Reviewers rate it highly

Frandroid listed value for money among its main strengths, and Techtest found it holds its own against robots costing well over twice as much, especially for mopping.

Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works

Cleans well for the money

Frandroid threw sand, mud, leaves, pet hair, dried coffee and sauce at it, and it cleared all visible dirt, rarely needing a second pass. Techtest found dust and hair usually cleared completely from hard floors, and rated its pickup of pet hair from carpet above average, with only the odd strand left. connect also rated the suction very good and found the hair-resistant brush left far less hair wound round it than usual. For very dirty floors, Frandroid recommends the slow mode with the most water.

Mopping is the highlight

Techtest called the mopping outstanding and said much pricier robots don't do it better, though it's for footprints and splashes rather than heavy grime. connect found the pads pressed down firmly enough to lift lightly dried stains, and the extending pad reached round desk chairs without gaps. Its one complaint: the pads dried out between trips back to the dock, so results weren't quite even, and it suggests setting the dock to rewash them more often. Frandroid also praised the extending pad along skirting boards.

Testers split on navigation

connect found its laser navigation largely faultless, cleaning in systematic lanes, and Techtest found it coped with a complex home without forgetting rooms and avoided furniture without touching it. Frandroid had a different experience: odd routes, missed patches, some areas covered twice, and repeated bumps into half-closed doors. Small things are a shared weakness. Frandroid saw it struggle with cables, cloths and thin chair legs, and Techtest warns that charging cables and socks can be missed, because there's no camera.

A noisy dock

All three tests found the dock loud. Frandroid noticed it while washing and drying the pads and emptying the bin, Techtest blamed the pumps during pad washing, and connect advises keeping it out of living spaces. They disagree about the robot itself: Techtest found it quieter than average, while Frandroid found it louder than average, with noisy wheels. Battery life was a bright spot for Frandroid, which estimates about 200 minutes on average settings. Schedule runs for when you're out.

Easy to look after

Frandroid liked the removable tray and the mode that fills it for scrubbing, but still recommended cleaning the pads now and then. connect liked the size of the water tanks and dust bag. How often they need attention depends on your floors and settings, so check them rather than expecting weeks of hands-off running. Carry full tanks carefully. Frandroid didn't like the plastics, but that was a first impression, not a durability test.

Our take

Should you buy the DEEBOT N30 PRO OMNI?

Best for: Homes with mostly hard floors that are kept clear of clutter. Skip it if: Cables, socks or small toys are often left on your floors.

Consider it if you want automatic mop washing and drying, have fairly tidy floors and can keep a noisy dock away from your main living space. Cleaning reviews were positive, but navigation varied and small objects were often missed. The L10s Ultra Gen 3 offers similar automation; its own small-object results also differ between tests. Compare current offers rather than assuming either range is always cheaper.

The N30 PRO OMNI pairs a vacuum and twin spinning mops with an automatic dust-emptying and mop-washing dock. One pad swings out towards skirting boards. The dock re-wets the pads during washing; connect reports no onboard water tank, which helps explain why its pads dried between dock visits. It has a raised laser sensor and no camera.

The questions people ask about this one

Will it avoid cables and pet mess?

Not well. Frandroid found it handled big things like shoes and toys, but struggled with cables, cloths and thin chair legs, and Techtest warns it can miss charging cables and socks. It has no camera, only laser obstacle sensing, per the specifications. Clear the floor first, and keep it away from pet accidents.

Does it fit under low furniture?

It's 10.4cm tall with the laser turret, per the specifications, so it won't get under many low sofas. Frandroid notes it's a classic round design with a laser dome on top. Measure the gap first.

How big is the dock, and is it loud?

It's 34cm wide, 48.5cm deep and 54cm tall, per the specifications. Techtest still found it fairly compact for a dock that washes pads. All three testers found it loud while washing the pads, and connect suggests keeping it out of living spaces.

Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?

It lifts the pads 9mm over rugs and boosts suction on carpet, per connect, and Frandroid says you can choose to lift, avoid or mop rugs. Doorway thresholds are a limit: it's rated for 2cm, per the specifications. If your thresholds are taller, look elsewhere.
