What reviewers found
Two detailed tests, from RTINGS in its lab and Vacuum Wars in its studio. Both found good pickup on hard floors, a dock that works and no real obstacle avoidance. They disagree sharply on mopping: Vacuum Wars scored it above average on dried stains, while RTINGS found stain removal inadequate. They also differ on hair, partly because they tested different things. The clearest downsides are clutter, long-hair tangles and short runs between charges.
RTINGS, lab test, Jan 2025 · Vacuum Wars, hands-on, Several weeks, Jun 2025
Hard floors
Mixed resultsRTINGS found it picked up most debris from hard floors in one run and was better than many rivals along walls and in corners. Vacuum Wars saw crevice pickup lag well behind the average robot, so tight gaps are its weak spot.
Carpet and rugs
Mixed resultsBoth testers found it merely adequate on carpet. Vacuum Wars pulled out about as much embedded sand as the average robot, with below-average airflow, and RTINGS rated its carpet cleaning as only alright.
Pet hair
Mixed resultsIt depends on the hair. Vacuum Wars saw it lift almost all short hair pressed into carpet, but long strands wrapped round the brush far more than average. RTINGS found pet-hair pickup on low-pile carpet only passable, with hair dragged around.
Mopping
Mixed resultsThe testers disagree. Vacuum Wars scored it above average on dried stains and found it left half the usual water behind, while RTINGS found stain removal inadequate, noting the pads are only soaked at the dock and dry out as it works.
Navigation and obstacles
Reviewers found problemsThere's no obstacle recognition, and both testers found clutter a problem. RTINGS found it poor with power cords, prone to getting stuck on rugs and tassels, and Vacuum Wars says cables and toys need clearing before every run.
Dock and upkeep
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars reported on the dock in detail, finding it reliably emptied the bin into a 3-litre bag and washed and dried the pads, with a removable tray that made cleaning easier.
App and software
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars judged the app, finding the fundamentals there, such as multi-floor maps, no-go zones and room scheduling, though power users may miss the finer controls of pricier brands.
Noise
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we could check reported how loud the robot or its dock is.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use has run it long-term or judged eufy's support yet.
Value
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars judged value, calling it a fair buy for mostly hard floors if you don't mind long-hair tangles and tidying up first, and one of the cheapest mop-washing robots it has tested.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Strongest on hard floors
RTINGS found it picked up most debris from hard floors in a single run, whatever the size, and did better than many rivals at clearing dirt along walls and in corners. Vacuum Wars rated its general navigation and coverage as average. If your home is mostly wood, tile or vinyl, that's a good everyday result, and it's the job this robot does most reliably.
Testers disagree on the mopping
Vacuum Wars measured above-average dried-stain removal, while RTINGS found it inadequate. eufy's eufy Support confirms there's no tank inside the robot: it goes back to the station to wet its pads, so the station has to be on the same floor. That clears up the conflicting hardware descriptions, but it doesn't explain why the two mopping tests came out so differently.
Carpet hair and long hair
Vacuum Wars found it lifted 96% of short hair pressed into medium-pile carpet, well above average, but 54% of long strands wrapped round the brush, much worse than average. RTINGS rated pet-hair pickup on low-pile carpet only passable, with hair dragged around, and its carpet cleaning in general as alright. It copes with short-haired pets on thin rugs. With long hair, plan to clear the brush often.
Tidy up before it runs
Both testers confirm there's no obstacle recognition. RTINGS found it poor with power cords, prone to getting stuck on rugs and tassels, and inclined to bump furniture quite hard. Vacuum Wars says cables and toys need clearing before each run to avoid rescues. No-go zones in the app help with permanent trouble spots, but they won't stop it catching a stray sock or charger.
Short runs and small bins
Vacuum Wars found it covered about half the floor area per charge of an average robot, and its small dustbin sends it back to the dock more often. RTINGS also flags the very small onboard bin and high running costs from parts that need replacing. On the plus side, Vacuum Wars found the dock emptied reliably and its removable tray made cleaning it easier.
Our take
Should you buy the Omni C20?
Best for: Homes with low sofas and beds to clean underneath. Skip it if: You have a pet that sheds heavily or lots of long hair.
The C20 suits mainly hard floors, low furniture and rooms you can tidy before cleaning. The C28 performed better on carpet and resisted long-hair tangles better in the cited tests, but it is taller and also struggled with navigation. If clutter is your main problem, read those limitations before choosing the upgrade.
The Omni C20 is eufy's budget route to a full dock, and one of the cheapest robots that washes its own mop pads. Two spinning pads do the mopping, and the dock empties the bin, washes the pads and dries them with room-temperature air. The laser sits inside the body rather than in a tower, so it's 8.5cm tall. There's no camera or other sensor for spotting cables, socks or pet mess.

The questions people ask about this one
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
No. RTINGS and Vacuum Wars both confirm it has no obstacle recognition, and RTINGS found it poor with power cords. Pick up cables, socks and toys before every run, and don't use it where a pet might have had an accident.
Does it fit under low furniture?
Yes, that's its strength. eufy lists it at 3.35 inches, about 8.5cm, per the specifications, and RTINGS confirmed it cleared an 8.5cm gap. The laser sensor sits inside the body, so there's no tower on top to catch on sofa frames.
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
Low ones are fine. RTINGS measured a maximum threshold of 1.9cm, but found it got stuck on rugs and tassels. The pads lift when it detects carpet, according to Vacuum Wars. Tuck in tassels or set a no-go zone round problem rugs.
Is it good with long hair?
Not especially. Despite eufy's detangling comb, listed in the specifications, Vacuum Wars found 54% of long strands wrapped round the brush, against a 38% average. Short hair was a different story, with 96% lifted from carpet. If someone in the house has long hair, expect to clean the brush regularly.
How often do I have to empty or refill it?
You refill the clean-water tank, empty the dirty-water tank and clean the tray and brushes yourself. Vacuum Wars describes a 3-litre dust bag, but bag changes are only part of the routine. The water tanks need attention more often, depending on how much floor you mop and which settings you use.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

Omni C28
Why consider it: Tests agree on strong vacuuming and roller mopping.
The compromise: It's taller, and clutter and furniture navigation are still where it compromises.

K11+
Why consider it: A small vacuum with an unusually compact emptying dock for tight spaces.
The compromise: Its wipe attachment is a poor stand-in for proper mopping.

Q7 M5 / M5+
Why consider it: Testers found good pickup of debris and hair from a compact charging dock.
The compromise: It has a fixed mop and a charge-only dock, so you do much more of the upkeep.

eufy Omni C28 vs Omni C20
Our verdict: In Vacuum Wars' tests the C28 cleaned embedded carpet dirt far better, lifted all the flattened hair and didn't tangle long hair at all, while the C20 wrapped more than half. The C20's one real advantage is height: it's about 8.5cm tall, against about 11cm for the C28.
