DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni
3 independent reviewsRead the findings →ECOVACS's newest mid-range roller-mop robot, following the T80 Omni. In controlled tests its pickup and stain removal are among the best around. But a long home test ran into problems with mapping, carpets and pet hair.

What reviewers found
Three tests of this exact model, and they don't agree. Vacuum Wars measured class-leading pickup and one of the best mopping scores it has recorded. Notebookcheck was also impressed by the mopping and hard-floor cleaning, with some navigation niggles. TechRadar's reviewer used it for three months in a home with two Border Collies and was disappointed by the mapping, carpet handling, pet hair and mopping. The lab-style results are promising, but the home result is a real warning.

Hard floors
Mixed resultsNotebookcheck saw coarse and fine dirt lifted from hard floors and Vacuum Wars measured class-leading pickup. Over three months at home with two dogs, TechRadar found pet hair left on hard floors.
Carpet and rugs
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars measured above-average deep-carpet cleaning, but Notebookcheck found sand stayed in medium pile until it switched on the deep-clean setting and full suction. TechRadar's bigger problem was the robot mopping carpets it should have skipped.
Pet hair
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars recorded all flattened pet hair picked up and no tangling in its long-hair test. At home with two Border Collies, TechRadar found hair left on floors and carpet and wrapped round the brush and wheels.
Mopping
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars recorded one of the best dried-stain results it has seen, and Notebookcheck saw dried ketchup handled on the first pass. TechRadar found wood floors left streaky and carpeted bedrooms mopped during automatic cleans.
Navigation and obstacles
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars saw it avoid all but one of its test obstacles, though its routes were slightly inconsistent. Notebookcheck saw it clip thin chair legs and miss a low toy brick, and TechRadar needed six mapping sessions for a simple flat.
Dock and upkeep
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars said the dock ticks nearly every premium box, though the robot's own bin is small. TechRadar liked the slim, hidden-tank design but couldn't see when tanks needed attention and was emptying and refilling after every other clean.
App and software
Mixed resultsNotebookcheck found the first map weaker than rivals' at dividing rooms, though a few minutes of editing fixed it. TechRadar needed repeated room edits and still had to avoid automatic whole-home cleans, and the robot sometimes started cleaning on its own.
Noise
Not enough evidenceOnly Notebookcheck measured noise: about 58dB normally, rising to around 68dB with the carpet deep-clean setting and maximum suction.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use judged ECOVACS's support. TechRadar's three-month test raised problems, but it's not yet known whether they came from the home, the settings or the unit.
Value
Not enough evidenceNone of the reviews we use judged whether it's good value compared with rivals.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Excellent in controlled tests
Vacuum Wars recorded 100% of flattened pet hair picked up, no tangling in its long-hair test, a dried-stain score nearly 50% above the category average and very little water left behind. It also avoided 23 of 24 obstacles. Notebookcheck saw coarse and fine dirt lifted from hard floors, everyday stains largely wiped away and a dried ketchup stain handled well on the first pass. On these numbers, it's one of the strongest mid-range robots around.
Three months at home went badly
TechRadar's reviewer needed six mapping sessions and extra room edits for a simple single-storey flat. Even with carpets marked, automatic whole-home cleans kept mopping the carpeted bedrooms, so she switched to room or zone cleans every time. It left pet hair on hard floors and carpet, wrapped hair round the brush and wheels, left wood floors streaky, and sometimes started cleaning on its own. That flatly contradicts the lab results, and none of the reviews explains why.
Navigation needs watching
Vacuum Wars called its real-world navigation efficiency slightly inconsistent. Notebookcheck found the first map weaker than rivals' at dividing rooms, though a few minutes of editing fixed it, and saw it clip thin black chair legs, miss a toy brick at half height and bump more on its way back to the dock. Check the map, the room divisions and the carpet zones before you trust a schedule.
Carpets need the right settings
Notebookcheck got better sand pickup from medium-pile carpet by using deep-clean mode and maximum suction, at the cost of more noise. Vacuum Wars also measured strong carpet cleaning. But TechRadar had carpeted rooms mopped despite map edits, and fell back on selected-room runs. Watch the first few cleans closely, since changing carpet settings didn't fix everything in that home test.
Hidden tanks, frequent refills
TechRadar liked the slim, good-looking dock and the hidden tanks, but couldn't see when they needed attention and was emptying and refilling after every other clean. Vacuum Wars said the dock ticks nearly every premium box, but the robot's own bin is about 30% smaller than average. Notebookcheck missed a mop-only mode, though the robot did switch to mopping alone when it spotted spilt milk.

Our take
Should you buy the DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni?
Best for: Homes with mostly hard floors and a pet that sheds. Skip it if: You want simple setup with little time spent adjusting maps or settings.
The T90's strong controlled cleaning results are offset by a three-month home test with persistent map, carpet and pet-hair problems. That makes it a cautious choice if you want reliable scheduled cleaning with little attention. The E25 has more consistent pet-hair results in the cited tests, though it also has rug-clearance and mopping limitations to weigh.
The T90 Pro Omni is the newest roller-mop robot in ECOVACS's mid-range, following the T80 Omni. It gets a longer roller that rinses itself as it goes, much higher claimed suction and the quick battery top-ups from the pricier X11. There's no turret, so it's 9.5cm tall, and the dock hides its water tanks inside a slim, fabric-look cabinet.
Vacuum Wars recorded class-leading pickup, all the flattened pet hair lifted, no tangling and one of the best dried-stain results it has seen. Nobody has explained the gap between that and the lab results. TechRadar also couldn't see when the hidden tanks needed attention and was refilling after every other clean.

The questions people ask about this one
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
It did well in tests, less so everywhere. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid 23 of 24 obstacles and Notebookcheck saw it leave a shoelace alone, but it clipped thin chair legs and missed a low toy brick. None of the three reports on pet waste, so don't leave it alone with a pet accident.
Does it fit under low furniture?
It's 9.5cm tall with no turret, per the specifications, and Vacuum Wars measured it at about 9.4cm. TechRadar found it got under furniture without issues. That's lower than turret robots but not the slimmest, so measure your sofa gap first.
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
ECOVACS claims 2.4cm with the mop fitted, per the specifications, and Vacuum Wars saw it cross a 32mm threshold. Notebookcheck had it drag a light doormat halfway across a room once. The roller lifts 15mm on carpet, but TechRadar still had it mopping carpets in automatic mode.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
The dock has a 4-litre clean tank, 2.2-litre dirty tank and 2.5-litre bag, per the specifications. TechRadar refilled and emptied the water after every other clean in its flat. How often you'll do it depends on how much you mop, your water settings and how often it washes, so take that as an example rather than a schedule.
Can it mop without vacuuming?
Not as a mode you pick. Notebookcheck found only vacuum, vacuum and mop, and mop after vacuuming, which risks greasy spills fouling the brush. It did switch to mopping alone on its own when it detected a milk spill.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

DEEBOT T80 OMNI
Why consider it: Its roller mop and hair pickup impressed two testers, and it leaves little water behind.
The compromise: One test saw unexplained stops around tables that needed no-go zones.

Omni E25
Why consider it: Independent tests found it genuinely good with pet hair, with a roller mop and automated dock.
The compromise: Hard stains, rug edges and occasional support problems are worth checking.

Aqua10 Ultra Roller
£164 less than the DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni
Why consider it: A self-cleaning roller mop with an automatic carpet cover that suits mixed floors.
The compromise: Reviewers disagree on carpet and stains, and owner reports of dock leaks are a worry.
