CHIP found a fast robot with only middling vacuuming and mopping results in its test suite. The roller handled general maintenance washing better than stubborn stains, and corner cleaning was a particular weakness. It collected all the test’s wool tufts, which should not be confused with proof of excellent performance on every type of pet hair.

CHIP liked the cover that separates the damp roller from carpet, plus the station’s automatic washing, drying and refilling. The reviewer also noted that the small supplied bottle of cleaning solution would soon need replenishing. These conveniences reduce routine handling without establishing how long consumables will last in a particular home.

The same test avoided some obstacles but ran over small toys and knocked over a wine glass. Its lower suction settings were not substantially quieter to the reviewer. Strong mapping features therefore do not mean every loose object will be recognised, and it may be less suitable for quiet occupied-room cleaning than the mode names suggest.

One owner planned to return a two-week-old Max 775 mainly to upgrade, while specifically noting that its height prevented access under toe kicks. They also described an app disconnection resolved by physically restarting the robot. Their report does not establish widespread connectivity failure, nor should an upgrade-motivated return be presented as proof of poor cleaning.
