AppleInsider describes the onboard dust storage rather than a conventional station that sucks dirt into a large dock bag. This changes the routine: you eventually handle the robot’s bin or bag yourself. A multiweek capacity claim is not a fixed maintenance interval, particularly in a home producing lots of pet hair.

Vacuum Wars found the mapping sensible but cleaning slow, particularly while mopping, and its obstacle-avoidance test was weak. AppleInsider also had trouble with small raised transitions and a circular room layout. These are good reasons to test your door strips and clear loose floor items before judging whether the robot can operate independently.

AppleInsider reported that intensive automatic cleaning could demand several water refills and found the noise manageable rather than exceptionally quiet. The same reviewer appreciated the generally low handling burden. Our reading is that the Freo X Ultra fits someone who prioritises a good mopped finish, has room for the station, and accepts slower runs and regular water handling.
