The short version
The W2 OMNI is a WINBOT tethered to a battery station, so you can clean glass without a socket nearby. The box holds the battery, stores the robot and its bits, and reels the cable in and out. It has since been replaced by the W2 PRO OMNI and then the W2S models, and Ecovacs' own shops now show it as sold out.
The trade-off is the usual one for window robots, plus age. You carry it to each pane, stick it on, and rinse the pad when it gets grubby, which can be after every couple of outdoor windows. It needs flat, unbroken glass of at least 30 by 40cm. Unlike the Pro that followed it, it can't clean while the station is plugged in, and it lacks the edge scrubbers of the W2S models.
Our take: Only worth buying if you find one heavily discounted and you have large windows, glass doors or mirrors to clean. For a current model with better edges, the WINBOT W2S OMNI is the obvious step. If you'd rather never rinse a pad, the W3 OMNI's station washes it for you. The Dreame C1 Station is another battery-station option.

Two home tests, both impressed. How-To Geek found it cleared caked-on dust from windows and left mirrors streak-free, though it missed bits in corners and along edges and fell short of a professional finish. Tom's Guide used it every few weeks for months on floor-to-ceiling windows and got streak-free results in minutes. Both liked that it works without the app, and both note you still move it between panes and rinse the pads.

Cleans big glass well
Tom's Guide went from pollen-tinted, ten-foot windows to streak-free glass in minutes, and said it did a better job than a bucket and squeegee. How-To Geek found it cleared most of the dirt even on windows with caked-on dust, without leaving much residue. It judged the result better than a quick job with a spray bottle and rag, but not as good as a professional window cleaner.
Corners and edges need a wipe
How-To Geek noticed debris left in the corners and along some edges, easy enough to clear with a paper towel or rag. That's the same weak spot testers found on the later W2 PRO OMNI. Tom's Guide didn't mention corners, but its windows were floor-to-ceiling panes. If crisp corners matter to you, plan on a quick hand finish, or look at the newer models with edge scrubbers.
Mirrors and showers work too
How-To Geek tried it on a frameless glass shower and it never ran off the side or top, thanks to its edge sensor. A floor-to-ceiling closet mirror came out without streaks, and a large bathroom mirror ended up cleaner than a hand wipe. The catch is the glass itself: How-To Geek says it needs square or rectangular panes without cracks or raised details, which can break its grip.
Still a hands-on job
You carry it to each window, attach it and wait for the chime. Tom's Guide found itself moving it every few minutes and rinsing pads and refilling the tank between panes, but didn't mind given the effort saved. How-To Geek could only do two dirty outside panes, roughly three by five feet, before the pad needed washing, though far more indoor panes. It found neither the battery nor the cable length held it back.

Does it work on frameless glass?
Yes. Ecovacs lists framed and frameless glass, per the specifications, and How-To Geek used it on a frameless glass shower without it running off the edge. It also worked on tall closet mirrors and a big wall mirror.
What happens if the power cuts out?
Ecovacs says it stays attached for over 30 minutes after power loss, per the specifications, and the cable doubles as a safety line. How-To Geek points out there's also a separate anchor in the station if you're worried about the base being pulled off a ledge.
Does it leave streaks or edges?
Few streaks: Tom's Guide got streak-free glass and How-To Geek found none on a mirror. Edges are the weak point. How-To Geek saw debris left in corners and along some edges, easy to wipe away by hand.
How long does one window take?
Ecovacs quotes about two minutes per square metre in fast mode, per the specifications. Tom's Guide found a big pane took a few minutes before the chime told it to move on. Allow extra time for rinsing pads on dirty outside glass.
Does it need a special cleaning fluid?
Tom's Guide simply added water to the tank and dampened the pad. Ecovacs also supplies its own cleaning solution, per the specifications. How-To Geek notes two spray nozzles, one on each side, loosen the dirt before the pad wipes it.
