Two long home tests: Expert Reviews spent a couple of months with it and ran its weighed debris and stain tests, and Stuff used it for nearly two months in a busy house. Both rate its reach under furniture and over thresholds, and both found the app overwhelming at first. They split on cleaning and avoidance: Stuff had few complaints, while Expert Reviews saw flour left in carpet, a misread jam stain and a missed fake poo on brown carpet.

Great reach, under and over
The turret drops so the robot fits where turreted robots can't. Expert Reviews got it under a bed frame it normally has to lift for other robots, and Stuff under a sofa its old iRobot avoided. Thresholds went well too: Stuff saw it cross a toilet lip and a temporary step, and Expert Reviews watched it mount a 4cm bathroom threshold, though only after marking it on the map. If doorway thresholds have stopped your last robot, this is the reason to look.
Carpet cleaning depends on the mess
Expert Reviews weighed 100% of rice collected on both floors, but only 57% of flour from carpet against 94% on hard floor, and found fine dust clogging the filter and bin inlet. Stuff had no trouble with dust, crumbs or rice on carpet, rated hard floors even better and found no hair tangles after a month, though it says one or two rivals clean thick carpet slightly better. Expect everyday mess to vanish and very fine dust to linger in carpet.
Stain spotting can backfire
The camera is meant to recognise stains and pick the right response. Expert Reviews saw it handle dried mud and ketchup very well, but it took dried jam for dry dirt, tried to vacuum it and smeared it over the floor and its own wheels. Stuff found the mopping shifted dried peanut butter and tomato sauce. It's a strong mop, but wipe up anything sticky yourself rather than letting the robot decide.
Avoidance works best on light floors
Stuff found it dodged socks, toys and a phone charger on a light carpet, though it sometimes steered round tiny things it could have nudged, and it needed rescuing twice in nearly two months. Expert Reviews had it drive over a sock and miss a fake poo on brown carpet, then avoid the same poo on a lighter kitchen floor; it needed rescuing only once. Dark, patterned rugs and pets that have accidents are the risky combination.
Living with the dock and app
Expert Reviews measured the emptying at up to 77dBA from a metre away, and Stuff avoided running it after its son's bedtime, so set quiet hours. Both found the app easy for basics but crowded with settings. Stuff needed space above the dock to lift out the 4-litre clean and 3.5-litre dirty tanks. Expert Reviews found moving it to another floor awkward, because the pads aren't wetted and the map must be switched by hand.

Should you buy the Saros 20 Neo?
Best for: Homes with raised door thresholds and low furniture. Skip it if: Your floors are level and you do not need help crossing raised doorways.

The Saros 20 Neo is the version of Roborock's Saros 20 that keeps a sensor on top, but one that sinks into the body so the robot drops to 7.95cm. The lifting chassis lets it step over doorway thresholds with two rises that stop most robots. The dock empties the bin, refills with warm water, doses detergent and washes and dries the pads, which can be left behind for carpet. Stuff says it's sold in the US as the Qrevo Edge 3 Pro.

Does it fit under low furniture?
Very likely. The turret retracts and the robot needs a gap of just 7.95cm, per the specifications. Expert Reviews got it under a bed frame and Stuff under a sofa that stopped an older robot. Measure your lowest gap first.
Can it cross rugs and raised thresholds between rooms?
Better than most. Roborock claims 8.79cm over two-step thresholds and 4.5cm over a single step, per the specifications. Expert Reviews saw it climb a 4cm threshold once it was marked in the app, and Stuff had it cross a temporary step. The pads lift or stay in the dock for carpet, per Stuff.
How big is the dock, and is it loud?
It's large and the emptying is loud. Expert Reviews measured up to 77dBA from a metre and Stuff avoided emptying runs after bedtime. Stuff also needed clearance above the dock to lift the tanks out, so check the space under any worktop.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
Not often. Stuff filled and emptied the 4-litre and 3.5-litre tanks only a handful of times in nearly two months and topped up detergent once. Expert Reviews warns the robot's own filter clogs with fine dust, so knock it out regularly.
