E40 Ultra
2 independent reviewsRead the findings →One of MOVA's cheaper robots with a full dock that empties the bin and washes and dries the pads. It pulls grit out of carpet well and runs for ages. It's poor at spotting clutter and weaker on stains.

What reviewers found
Vacuum Wars ran controlled tests alongside the P10 Pro Ultra, while Just A Dad Approved lived with the E40 for about three months. Both liked the battery life, and both found it struggles with small hazards and tangles hair. Just A Dad Approved praised the app. Both preferred the P10 because the two cost about the same when they reviewed them, so check current UK offers before you take that as read.
Vacuum Wars, lab test, Feb 2026 · Just A Dad Approved, hands-on, About three months, Jun 2026
Hard floors
Not enough evidenceOnly Vacuum Wars measured hard-floor pickup, finding it performed well in basic debris tests, though without the extending side brush the P10 Pro Ultra uses for edges.
Carpet and rugs
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars measured above-average sand removal from carpet, better than the P10 Pro Ultra, despite below-average measured suction. Just A Dad Approved rated carpet cleaning only average, fine for everyday use.
Pet hair
Mixed resultsVacuum Wars found it lifted less than half the flattened pet hair and saw long hair wrap the brush, while Just A Dad Approved found the single roller fine for everyday use but suggests MOVA's hair-cutting brush upgrade for shedding pets.
Mopping
Mixed resultsThe extending pad reaches the edges: Just A Dad Approved found it cleans closer to skirting boards than most at the price. But Vacuum Wars scored stain removal far below average, so expect light wiping rather than a scrub of dried-on marks.
Navigation and obstacles
Mixed resultsMapping and coverage are good: Vacuum Wars found navigation well above average and Just A Dad Approved found mapping accurate. Obstacle avoidance is poor, with Vacuum Wars seeing it avoid only a handful of objects and Just A Dad Approved finding it misses small clutter.
Dock and upkeep
Mixed resultsThe dock does the basics but cuts corners. Just A Dad Approved and Vacuum Wars both found it washes the pads in cold water, and Just A Dad Approved notes there's no detergent tank, so add cleaner yourself.
App and software
Not enough evidenceOnly Just A Dad Approved judged the app, calling it one of the robot's real strengths, with accurate mapping and orderly cleaning paths.
Noise
Not enough evidenceNo qualifying review measured or judged how loud the robot or its dock is.
Reliability and support
Not enough evidenceNo qualifying review has judged MOVA's support, and Just A Dad Approved's three months of use turned up no reliability problems worth reporting.
Value
Reviewers found problemsBoth testers recommend the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra instead. Vacuum Wars found the P10 usually sells for less despite doing more, and Just A Dad Approved would only buy the E40 on a big sale below the P10's price.
Verdicts come from independent, hands-on, finished reviews. An area needs at least two of them before we say more than “Not enough evidence”. We don't score robots ourselves. How this works
Poor at spotting small clutter
This is the biggest gap. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid only 5 of 24 objects, against an average of 17, where the P10 Pro Ultra managed 19. Just A Dad Approved found its simple laser handled larger objects but wasn't sharp around small clutter. MOVA's own page only promises that the laser helps it steer round objects and cut down collisions. Pick up cables, socks and anything a pet leaves before each run.
Strong on carpet grit, weak with hair
Vacuum Wars measured 88% of sand removed from carpet, above the 77% average and better than the P10 Pro Ultra. Its measured suction was below average, though, and it lifted only 47% of flattened pet hair, with 44% of long hair wrapped round the brush. Just A Dad Approved rated carpet cleaning and tangling 6.5 out of 10 and suggests MOVA's hair-cutting brush upgrade. Fine for dusty rugs; not the pick for a shedding pet.
Mopping reaches edges but is light
Just A Dad Approved liked how far the extending pad reaches into edges. Vacuum Wars also found the extension useful, but stain removal scored less than half its test average. The pads lift by about 10.5mm over carpet, which may not clear thick pile. Expect a light daily wipe that gets closer to the skirting, and plan to tackle stubborn dried marks yourself.
Long runs, simpler dock
Vacuum Wars estimated about 149m² of coverage per charge, above its roughly 102m² average, although its cleaning routes were slightly slower. Both reviews describe unheated pad washing and no automatic detergent tank. MOVA lists heated-air drying, and Just A Dad Approved backs that up, but Vacuum Wars’ comparison is less clear. If drying matters to you, check the exact regional model has it.
Our take
Should you buy the E40 Ultra?
Best for: Tidy homes where routine hard-floor cleaning and embedded carpet grit matter more than pet hair or stubborn stains. Skip it if: Pet-hair pickup or removing dried-on stains is a priority.
Consider the E40 when its price is low enough to justify weaker stain removal and obstacle avoidance. It performed well on embedded carpet sand. If the P10 Pro Ultra is available at a similar total price, its stronger avoidance and mopping results make it worth comparing.
The E40 Ultra is one of MOVA's cheaper robots with a do-everything dock. It maps with a sensor on top, vacuums with a single rubber brush and mops with two spinning pads, one of which reaches out towards skirting boards. The dock empties the bin into a bag, refills the robot and washes and dries the pads, and to hit the price MOVA left out the camera.
Vacuum Wars measured 88% of sand pulled from carpet, above average and better than the P10 Pro Ultra, and found the battery covers far more floor per charge than most. Clutter is the problem. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid only a handful of its test objects, and Just A Dad Approved found its simple laser misses small things. Vacuum Wars also found long hair wrapping the brush and less than half the flattened pet hair picked up. Just A Dad Approved liked that the extending pad mops closer to skirting boards than most at the price, but Vacuum Wars scored stain removal far below average. Both found the dock washes the pads in cold water with no detergent tank, and both say the P10 Pro Ultra is the better robot at a similar price.

Before you buy
The questions people ask about this one
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
No. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid just 5 of 24 objects, one of its worst results, and Just A Dad Approved says its single laser misses small clutter. It has no camera, per the specifications. Clear the floor before it runs, and don't leave it alone with pet accidents.
Can it leave the mops in the dock for carpet?
No. It lifts the pads 10.5mm when it detects carpet and boosts suction, per the specifications, and Vacuum Wars confirms the lift. That's fine for low rugs, but deep pile may still brush the damp pads.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
MOVA claims up to 75 days between dust-bag changes. The dock’s water tanks and wash tray need attention more often than that. There's no automatic detergent tank, so if you use cleaning solution, follow MOVA’s instructions on which product to use and where to pour it.
Does it fit under low furniture?
It's 9.7cm tall with a laser turret on top, per the specifications. That's average for a robot with a turret, but taller than slim models. Neither tester measured clearance, so check the gap under your sofa.
How big is the dock, and is it loud?
The dock is 34 × 45.7 × 59cm, per the specifications, so it's tall. Neither Vacuum Wars nor Just A Dad Approved measured noise, so there's no independent figure for emptying or drying yet.
Alternatives
Other robot vacuums to compare.

P10 Pro Ultra
Why consider it: Better obstacle avoidance and hair handling in the same tests, a hot-water mop wash and very long battery life.
The compromise: All three of its tests found it weak on pet hair in carpet.

Omni C20
Why consider it: A slim robot with a dock that empties and washes its pads, good on hard floors and under low furniture.
The compromise: It can't see small obstacles either, so you still tidy up first.

Robot Vacuum X20 Pro
Why consider it: A budget full-service dock with hot-air drying and automatic rug handling.
The compromise: Testers disagree completely about its mopping.
