iRobot's cheapest vacuum and mop with laser mapping, sold with or without an emptying dock. It vacuums reasonably for the money, but the drag-along mop is weak and it runs over cables.

The short version
The 105 Combo is the entry point to iRobot's rebuilt Roomba range. It's the basic Roomba 105 vacuum with a water tank and a flat cloth pad added, and you can buy it with a plain charging dock or with an AutoEmpty dock that holds the dirt. Like the rest of the new range, it maps your home with a laser rather than bumping around blind.
The mop is the weak link. The pad is simply dragged along, with no scrubbing or lifting, so the robot avoids carpet altogether when it's fitted. There's no sensor for small objects, and the robot is 10.4cm tall. One tester even suggests the plain 105 vacuum is the better buy, because the extras didn't earn their keep.
Our take: Fine for regular vacuuming of a tidy, mostly hard-floored flat if you find it on a big discount. If you want a mop that actually scrubs, a Roborock Qrevo S or MOVA P10 Pro Ultra does much more, and the MOVA handles obstacles well too. For simple vacuuming with a compact emptying dock, look at the Tapo RV20 Max Plus.

Two home tests so far. Reviews.org tested the 105 Combo with the AutoEmpty dock in Australia, and Just A Dad Approved tested the 105 family in its own studio. Just A Dad Approved liked the quick laser mapping. Both found it has no real obstacle avoidance and that the mop only suits light messes. They disagree on the app and on the emptying dock: Just A Dad Approved rated both, while Reviews.org found the app slow and the dock unreliable.

Decent vacuuming for the price
Reviews.org measured about 85% to 90% pickup of both large and small debris, which it called excellent at this price. It also found the robot pushed some oats and sprinkles up to five metres away, and edge cleaning dropped to about 80%. Just A Dad Approved praised its tight, straight cleaning lines. Expect a tidy result in the middle of rooms, with the odd dusty edge for a stick vacuum.
The mop is a light wipe
The pad is dragged with no pressure or scrubbing, Just A Dad Approved notes, though it lifted muddy paw prints surprisingly well in its corner test. Reviews.org had worse luck: tomato sauce and honey were smeared across about three square metres of floor. Use it for dust and small drips, not proper spills. Just A Dad Approved also says you can't set how wet the pad gets, although iRobot lists three water levels.
Clear the floor first
Just A Dad Approved found the front sensor is only for docking, so cables, small toys and low items get run over. Reviews.org described it bumping into objects and edging round them instead of avoiding them, and warned it can get stuck. Both advise tidying up before every run. It's the biggest gap against rivals that now spot obstacles at similar prices.
Carpet avoidance can cut off rooms
With the pad fitted, the robot won't go on carpet at all, because it can't lift the mop. Just A Dad Approved saw that as a partial fix, since rugs stay dry but don't get vacuumed. Reviews.org found it sometimes refused to reach a zone, possibly because a large rug blocked the way, and had to carry it there. Take the pad off if rugs divide your rooms.
App and dock split the testers
Just A Dad Approved called the new Roomba Home app a real upgrade and found the AutoEmpty dock worked cleanly after its mud test. Reviews.org called the same app the least intuitive it had used, slow to load and full of extra taps, and found the dock often left dirt in the robot's bin. Nobody has shown why the dock results differ.
Reviews.org tested the version with the AutoEmpty dock. Just A Dad Approved tested the 105 family, which uses the same robot with either dock.

How does it handle rugs and door bars?
With the mop fitted, it avoids carpet completely, per the specifications. Reviews.org found that could stop it reaching rooms beyond a large rug. iRobot doesn't list a threshold height, so check any tall door bars before you buy.
Do I need the AutoEmpty dock version?
The testers disagree. Reviews.org found its dock often left debris behind and suggested skipping the extras, while Just A Dad Approved found the dock emptied cleanly after its muddy test. iRobot claims up to 75 days before you change the bag, per the specifications.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
iRobot says you need the app and a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for setup and operation, per the specifications. Reviews.org found the app so slow that it often just pressed the start button on the robot, which runs a clean without opening the app.
