D20 Plus
A budget Dreame robot vacuum with a bag-emptying dock and a twin-roller brush that resists hair tangles. It vacuums strongly, but the mop is a pad it drags along and it doesn't dodge clutter well.
The short version
The D20 Plus is Dreame's budget self-emptying robot, above the D10 Plus Gen 2 and well below the mop-washing L-series. It maps your home with a laser, and the dock empties the bin into a 5-litre bag Dreame says lasts up to 150 days. It has two rollers that feed long hair through rather than wrapping it.
The trade-offs are the mop and obstacles. The mop is a damp pad on a water tank that the robot drags behind it, and it can't lift, so you take it off for carpet. Only the Pro Plus adds a light sensor for spotting objects. It's $279.99.
The D20 Pro Plus is the same robot with an extending side brush and that obstacle sensor. In Europe, Dreame's own stores sell the Pro Plus rather than the D20 Plus.
Our take: On paper it's a strong budget buy for carpets and pet hair if you're happy to treat it as a vacuum only. With one long-term test so far, of the Pro Plus, we'd wait for more reviews. If you want a budget self-emptier with a longer track record, look at the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 or the Tapo RV30 Max Plus.

What we know so far
Limited evidence Only one independent, finished hands-on review so far. A score and badge appear once there is a second.
Only one full test so far, and it's of the D20 Pro Plus: Just A Dad Approved used it for three months at home and scored it 7.8 out of 10. It rated the vacuuming, carpet cleaning and hair handling well, found obstacle avoidance middling and advised skipping the mop. Nobody has tested the D20 Plus's own fixed side brush or its obstacle handling without the Pro Plus's sensor. Vacuum Wars mentions in a buying guide that the D20 Plus earned one of its five highest carpet sand scores in studio testing, but hasn't published a full review.
Just A Dad Approved, hands-on, 3 months at home (tested on the D20 Pro Plus)
Strong on carpet and hair
Just A Dad Approved scored carpet cleaning 8 out of 10 and hair tangles 8, and found long and pet hair was pulled through the twin rollers without wrapping. It also found single passes clean on hard floors. Vacuum Wars says the D20 Plus earned one of its five best carpet sand-cleaning results in its studio. The two robots share the same suction and brush, so this is likely to hold for both.
Treat it as vacuum-only
Just A Dad Approved found the mop drags the pad rather than scrubbing, and recommends running it as a vacuum only. The pad clips on under a 350ml tank, Dreame lists no mop lifting, and it recommends taking the pad off before cleaning carpets, per the specifications. It's fine for a light damp wipe on hard floors, but don't expect it to shift stains.
Middling with clutter
Just A Dad Approved rated obstacle avoidance 6 out of 10 on the Pro Plus, which has a 3D light sensor for spotting objects. It coped with normal rooms but struggled on heavily cluttered floors. The D20 Plus doesn't list that sensor, per the specifications, and its own obstacle handling is untested. Expect it to do no better, and pick up cables, socks and toys before each run.
Months between bag changes
The dock empties the 500ml bin into a 5-litre bag that Dreame says lasts up to 150 days, per the specifications. Just A Dad Approved scored the robot 9 out of 10 for being hassle-free, and liked that the dock comes with a ramp so it can sit on carpet. Mapping and the app were simple to set up.
The only full review covers the D20 Pro Plus, which shares the D20 Plus's suction, brush and dock but adds an extending side brush and an obstacle sensor. A score and badge appear once a second independent test of either model is added.

What does the Pro Plus add?
Per the specifications, the D20 Pro Plus adds a side brush that extends into corners and a 3D structured-light sensor for spotting obstacles. Suction, brush, bin, bag and battery are the same. Just A Dad Approved tested the Pro Plus. Nobody has tested the D20 Plus's obstacle handling or fixed side brush yet.
Can it leave the mop off for carpet?
You have to take it off yourself. The pad is a detachable plate with no lifting listed, and Dreame recommends removing it before cleaning carpets, per the specifications. Just A Dad Approved suggests leaving the mop off altogether and using it as a vacuum.
Will it avoid cables and pet mess?
Don't count on it. Just A Dad Approved rated the Pro Plus's avoidance 6 out of 10 and found it struggled with cluttered floors. The D20 Plus lacks the Pro Plus's obstacle sensor, per the specifications, and nobody has tested how it copes. Clear the floor before each run.
How often do I have to empty or refill anything?
