The best robot lawn mowers in the UK

Eight mowers, from a £899 machine for 500m² lawns to a 1,500m² Husqvarna. Every one is wire-free. Every price was read from the seller's page on the date shown, and where no credible outlet has reviewed the exact model we say so rather than borrow a score from a sibling.

E15 Robot Lawn Mower

The most reviewed mower in this list — TechRadar Recommended, a T3 Platinum Award, Tom's Guide and Trusted Reviews — and it needs no boundary wire and no RTK station, just Wi-Fi or 4G across the lawn. Rated for 800m² and 40% slopes. It was out of stock at eufy when we checked, so confirm availability first.

The rest of the list

Picks two to 8: the job each wins, and the evidence. Prices are the seller's own, on the date shown.

  1. Best for big or steep gardens

    Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD

All-wheel drive, an 80% slope rating and a 400mm cut — twice the width of most here. It positions with LiDAR, network RTK and two cameras at once, so it keeps going where a single system loses signal. TechRadar's Highly Recommended covers the 3000 variant; prices run from £2,099 for the 1500 to £2,899 for the 5000.

  2. Best for small gardens

    eufy C15 Robot Lawn Mower

The same camera-only navigation as the E15 in a cheaper 500m² machine, with the best-documented specification in the list — ten figures confirmed against eufy's own pages. Expert Reviews gave it a Recommended badge. £999 and in stock.

  3. Best value with satellite positioning

    Kress EyePilot KR250E

£899 buys network RTK positioning — corrections arrive over Wi-Fi or 4G, so there is no base station to mount — plus camera awareness, a 40% slope rating and 500m² coverage. No credible outlet has reviewed it yet, so this pick rests on the specification and price alone.

  4. Best for edges

    Kress EyePilot ZeroTrim KR260E

The KR250E's positioning plus Kress's ZeroTrim cutting system, which is built to cut to the edge and reduce strimming. 700m² and 40% slopes for £1,149. Like its smaller sibling it has no expert review we could find.

  5. Best dealer-backed

    Husqvarna Automower 405VE NERA

Husqvarna's virtual-wire system with satellite positioning to better than 5cm, an infrared camera for object detection and an optional EPOS RS1 reference station for gardens with poor signal. 900m², £2,349, sold and serviced through dealers. Reviews exist for the 405XE and 305E, not this camera-equipped VE — we don't carry them across.

How we chose

Three separate signals, never one invented score. Read the full method.

  • Every mower here has a verified UK price read from the seller's page in a browser on the date shown. The Kress prices were confirmed on both Kress UK and the dealer Autonomow.
  • Area, slope, boundary system and cutting width come from the manufacturer's own UK product page. Where eufy's product page and comparison page disagreed on the C15's noise figure, we left it out.
  • Reviews are attached only where the outlet names the exact model. The Husqvarna 405XE and 305E, the Kress KR250ES and the LUBA 3 AWD's variants are different machines, and their reviews are not borrowed.
  • No composite score. Four of the eight mowers have no credible expert review at all, and we would rather show that gap than fill it.
  • Some links may become paid affiliate links in future and will be labelled. Commission never changes the order.

Questions people ask

Which robot mower is best in the UK?

The eufy E15 for most gardens up to 800m²: the most reviewed mower here and no wire or base station to install. If your garden is large, steep or wooded, the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD's three positioning systems and 80% slope rating are the safer buy.

Do I still need a perimeter wire?

Not with any mower on this page. They use cameras, network RTK satellite positioning, or both. The trade-off is that camera-only mowers need Wi-Fi or 4G coverage across the whole lawn, and RTK mowers need a clear view of the sky.

How much lawn can a robot mower handle?

The rated areas here run from 500m² (eufy C15, Kress KR250E) to 1,500m² (Husqvarna 410VE), with the LUBA 3 AWD 5000 variant rated far higher. Buy for your actual lawn plus a margin — a mower at its limit runs all day.

What slope can a robot mower climb?

Most here manage 30–40%. The LUBA 3 AWD's all-wheel drive is rated for 80%, which is why it is the pick for steep gardens. Measure your steepest run before choosing.

Why do some mowers here have no review?

Because none of the outlets we trust has tested that exact model. Reviews often exist for a sibling — a different Husqvarna NERA or Kress variant — and we do not attach those. The specification and price are still verified.
