iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max
Its fully retracting mop has a clear purpose around carpets. However, independent reviews identify enough navigation, mopping and dock weaknesses that we would compare newer alternatives carefully before buying.

This is a robot floor-cleaning system. Navigation is listed as camera-based mapping and obstacle recognition and the dock provides AutoWash: automatic emptying, pad washing and drying.
What reviewers found
The Combo 10 Max reduces some routine floor work, but the reviewed units did not deliver the effortless vacuuming-and-mopping experience its elaborate dock promises. Carpet hair, mop washing and slow navigation are the recurring reservations.
Daily vacuuming has limits
Vacuum Wars found strong pickup of loose debris on both hard flooring and carpet. TechRadar was satisfied with hard-floor cleaning but found embedded pet hair on carpet more challenging. These are different cleaning tasks: collecting visible crumbs does not establish that the robot can replace deeper carpet cleaning.

The mop retracts onto the top of the robot, keeping the wet pad away from carpet. That is a useful practical feature, but TechRadar found actual mopping and the subsequent dock-cleaning process disappointing, including a messy washing area. The moving pad mechanism is therefore more convincing than the complete maintenance experience.
[2]Expect slower mapping and coverage
Vacuum Wars found initial mapping unusually slow and observed confusion after moving the robot during a job. Its obstacle avoidance performed above that publication’s average, though it still made mistakes. In a home with frequent changes to furniture or floor clutter, those interruptions matter alongside raw cleaning performance.
[1]Dock and app need attention
TechRadar reported weak dock suction and intrusive noise, while Vacuum Wars found the app restrictive and buggy during its testing. These are test-period observations rather than proof that every current unit has identical faults. They make reliable docking, complete emptying and successful scheduled runs especially useful things to establish early in ownership.
