The best robot vacuums for carpet in the UK

On carpet the question is not how hard a robot sucks but whether its mop stays dry and off the pile. Seven picks ranked on mop detachment or lift height, carpet detection and reviews of the exact model, with prices read on the date shown.

How we chose

Three separate signals, never one invented score. Read the full method.

  • Every pick either detaches its mop or lifts it, and the figure shown is the manufacturer's own. Combos that drag a damp pad over carpet are excluded.
  • We have not measured pickup on carpet ourselves; picks rest on verified features and on reviews of the exact model.
  • Prices were read from the seller's page in a browser on the date shown. Specifications are shown only where sources agree.
  • Suction claims are not comparable across brands — Shark publishes air watts, not Pa — so they are shown but not ranked on.
  • Some links may become paid affiliate links in future and will be labelled. Commission never changes the order.

Questions people ask

Which robot vacuum is best for carpet?

The Roborock Saros 10, because it leaves the mop behind entirely and is backed by TechRadar and T3. For deep-pile rugs the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra's 10cm climb is the difference.

Does mop lift height matter?

Yes for medium and deep pile. A 10mm lift clears a short-pile carpet; a thick rug needs 20mm or a mop that detaches. The mopping column shows the confirmed figure for each pick.

Is more suction better on carpet?

Only within a brand. Pa figures are not comparable between manufacturers and Shark does not publish one. Brush design and carpet detection matter more, which is why the Shark models rank despite a blank suction cell.

Can a robot climb onto a thick rug?

The threshold column shows what each robot is rated to climb — from about 2cm (eufy X10) to 10cm (Dreame X60). If your rug edge is thicker than the figure, the robot will treat it as a wall.
